Aqua is a Danish-Norwegian dance group, best known for their 1997 breakthrough single "Barbie Girl". The group formed in 1989 and achieved huge success around the globe in the late 1990s and early 2000s. The group released three albums: Aquarium in 1997, Aquarius in 2000 and Megalomania in 2011. The group sold an estimated 33 million albums and singles, making them the most profitable Danish band ever.
"Black Velvet" is a song written by Canadian songwriters Christopher Ward and David Tyson, recorded by Canadian singer songwriter Alannah Myles. It was released in December 1989 as one of four singles from Myles' 1989 eponymous album from Atlantic Records. It became a number-one hit for two weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 charts in 1990 and reached number one on the Album Rock Tracks chart, as well as number ten in her native Canada and number two on the UK Singles Chart. The song also reached number one in Norway, Sweden, and Switzerland and was a major success in several other countries. It contains blues verses with a rock chorus.
"The Flood" is a song by British pop group Take That from their sixth studio album, Progress (2010). It was released as the lead single in the United Kingdom on 7 November 2010. The song is the first to feature Robbie Williams since his return to the band in July 2010, and features both Williams and Gary Barlow on lead vocals.

The Danish entry was selected through Dansk Melodi Grand Prix 2012, a national selection organised by the Danish broadcaster DR. Soluna Samay represented Denmark with the song "Should've Known Better", which qualified from the first semi-final and went on to place 23rd in the final, scoring 21 points.
"Niggas in Paris" is a song by American rappers Kanye West and Jay-Z from their collaborative album Watch the Throne (2011). The song heavily samples "Dirty South Bangaz" by Big Fish Audio and also contains samples from "Baptizing Scene" by Reverend W.A. Donaldson, "Victory" by Puff Daddy featuring The Notorious B.I.G. and Busta Rhymes, and dialogue from DreamWorks Pictures' 2007 film Blades of Glory. On the week of the album's release the song debuted at number 75 on the US Billboard Hot 100 eventually peaking at number 5. As of 2018, it has sold 6 million digital units in the United States. The single won Best Rap Performance and Best Rap Song at the 55th Annual Grammy Awards.
Christopher Nissen is a Danish singer from Copenhagen, signed to EMI Denmark. In November 2012, he won an award at the Danish Music Awards 2012. He was awarded New Thinker of the Year, given by Spotify as an innovation prize. Christopher released three albums, the debut Colours (2012), followed by Told You So (2014) and Closer (2016). Christopher's songs include "Against the Odds, "Nothing in Common", "Told You So", "CPH Girls" and "I Won't Let You Down".
"Should've Known Better" is a song by Guatemalan-Danish singer Soluna Samay. It was chosen to represent Denmark at the Eurovision Song Contest 2012, where it was placed 23rd out of 26 in the final, after winning the Superfinal at the Dansk Melodi Grand Prix 2012. The song is written by Remee, Chief 1, Amir Sulaiman and Isam Bachiri.
Take Our Hearts is a song by Danish singer Jesper Nohrstedt, a former contestant in Season 3 of the Danish X Factor in 2010 where he had finished third overall behind winner Thomas Ring and runner-up Tine.
Jesper Nohrstedt Boesgaard is a Danish singer. He made his debut on the Danish X Factor in 2010. Two years later he reached second place in the music contest Dansk Melodi Grand Prix; had he won, he would have represented Denmark in the Eurovision Song Contest 2012. He is currently making music with Danish producer and DJ Morten Hampenberg.
Lukas Graham is a Danish pop and soul band. It consists of lead vocalist Lukas Forchhammer, drummer Mark Falgren, and bassist Magnus Larsson. The band released their first album, Lukas Graham, with labels Copenhagen Records and Then We Take the World in 2012. The album peaked at number one on the Danish charts. Their second album was released in 2015 and earned international attention with singles like "Mama Said" and "7 Years", the latter of which topped the singles charts in many major music markets. The self-titled international debut album was officially released in the United States by Warner Bros. Records on 1 April 2016.
John William Peter Newman is an English musician, singer, songwriter and record producer. He is best known for the track "Love Me Again" which peaked at number one on the UK Singles Chart in July 2013 as well as co-writing and singing on Rudimental's 2012 singles "Feel the Love" and "Not Giving In", which peaked at number one and number 14 on the chart, respectively. In 2014, he featured in the Calvin Harris single "Blame" which topped the UK charts.
