The Committee for Ethnic and Religious Affairs (full name Committee for Ethnic and Religious Affairs of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference) is one of ten special committees of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference,China's top political advisory body and a central part of the Chinese Communist Party's united front system. [1]
The Ethnic and Religious Affairs Committee was created in March 1995 during the 8th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference. [2]
The committee conducts political consultations and supervises policy consultations in affairs related to ethnic minorities and religions,including Xinjiang and Tibet. [3]

Wang Yongzhi was a Chinese aerospace scientist and academician at the Chinese Academy of Engineering and a commissioner of the 11th National People's Political Consultative Conference. He is notable for serving as the general architect and designer of China's Shenzhou program from 1992 to 2006 overseeing the first six Shenzhou missions. In 2003,he was awarded the nation's highest scientific and technological prize,State Preeminent Science and Technology Award,by President Hu Jintao. Wang Yongzhi graduated from Moscow Aviation Institute in 1961. Wang died on 11 June 2024,at the age of 91.

Zhang Qingli born 10 February 1951 in Dongping County,Shandong) is a retired politician of the People's Republic of China. He was the first-ranked vice-chairman of the 13th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC). He was the vice-chairman and secretary-general of the 12th National Committee of the CPPCC. Previously he was the Chinese Communist Party Committee Secretary of Tibet Autonomous Region from 2006 to 2011 and of Hebei Province from 2011 to 2013. He was a member of the 16th,17th and 18th Central Committees of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).
