The Riksdag is the legislature and the supreme decision-making body of Sweden. Since 1971, the Riksdag has been a unicameral legislature with 349 members, elected proportionally and serving, since 1994, fixed four-year terms. The 2022 Swedish general election is the most recent general election.
Stockholm Municipality or the City of Stockholm is a municipality in Stockholm County in east central Sweden. It has the largest population of the 290 municipalities of the country, but one of the smallest areas, making it the second most densely populated. It is also the most populous municipality in the Nordic countries.
Lars Olof Hjälmered is a Swedish politician for the Moderate Party. He was member of the Riksdag from 2006 to 2022, representing Gothenburg Municipality. Since October 2022, Hjälmered is state secretary with responsibility for state owned companies at the Ministry of Finance under Minister for Finance Elisabeth Svantesson.

The committee manages and debates matters concerning state and municipal taxes and matters concerning taxation, tax payment, and, population registration, as well as matters concerning the enforcement system. Taxes also include customs duties and taxes comparable to taxes.

The committee's responsibilities include examining issues relating to the Swedish Constitution and Administrative laws, as well as examining the Prime Minister's performance of duties and the handling of government matters. The committee's activities are regulated by the Riksdag.

The committee's areas of responsibility concern the military, the role of the population in defence policies, along with coordination inside the total defence. The committee also treats questions regarding the coast guard.

The committee prepares matters concerning the state's relationship to and agreements with other states and international organizations, assistance to other countries' development, representing the Swedish state abroad, as well as helping with diplomatic situations abroad. The committee also handles matters concerning foreign trade and international economic cooperation. They also handle matters that non of the other seventeen other parliamentary committees handle.
(Parliamentary) Committee on Health and Welfare (SoU) is a parliamentary committee in the Swedish Riksdag. The committee's main areas of responsibility concern the wellbeing of children and teenagers, care for the elderly and disabled, measures against addiction, and other social services issues. It also debates on policies regarding alcohol, and health care along with social matters in general.

The committee areas of responsibility concern roads, railway, the sea and air transport, road traffic safety, mail services, telecommunication, and Information technology (IT) as well as research activities in the field of communication.

The committee's main areas of responsibility are the Swedish agricultural industry, agriculture, forestry, policies surrounding gardening, hunting, fishing, and weather forecasting. The committee also handles other matters such as the safety of nuclear power, nature conservation, and environmental protection, along with other matters that do not concern any other of the seventeen committees. The committee's areas of responsibility concern Business policies and related research on those terms, along with trade, energy policies, regional development policy, state-owned enterprises and price, and competition conditions.
(Parliamentary) Committee on Justice (JuU) is a parliamentary committee in the Swedish Riksdag. The committee's main areas of responsibility concern Judiciary policies on various different authorities, among other things, the courts, Prosecution Authority, the Police Authorities, the Prison and Probation Service, along with matters that concern the criminal code, the Code of Judicial Procedure, and laws that replace or are closely related to regulations that concern these areas.
(Parliamentary) Committee on the Labour Market (AU) is a parliamentary committee in the Swedish Riksdag. The committee's areas of responsibility concern active labour market policies, working condition policies, working life policies, labour laws, along with gender equality between men and women on the labour market and the working life. The committee was first implemented into the Riksdag during the parliament year of 1975/1976, it served as a successor to the Committee on Home Affairs.
(Parliamentary) Committee on Social Insurance (SfU) is a parliamentary committee in the Swedish Riksdag. The committee's areas of responsibility concern health insurance, pensions, policies on families, asylum, human migration, integration policies for newly arrived migrants, along with Swedish citizenship.
The Committee on European Union Affairs is a governmental body in the Swedish Riksdag, where the Riksdag and the Swedish Government consult matters and issues about the European Union (EU). In the EU Committee, Sweden's negotiating position is determined prior to a meeting between the European Council and the Council of the European Union.
The (Parliamentary) Committee on Housing was a parliamentary committee in the Swedish Riksdag up until 2006. The committee prepared, among other things, policies about housing and about land tenure, dwelling policies, water law, planning of buildings, physical planning, property development and surveying, as well as matters concerning the national administrative division and such municipal issues that do not belong to any other committee's preparation area.
