Consolation is the name of a former Dutch death metal/grindcore band from the Zaanstreek [1] that formed in 1989. They released three full-length albums through Displeased Records and were called the Dutch "Gods of Grind"; [2] at their peak, in the late 1990s, they were one of the highest rated metal bands in the Netherlands, according to Dutch metal magazine Aardschok. [3]

The band split up in 1999. They more or less restarted in 2002 as Cardinal, playing shows as late as 2005. [4] A real comeback under their old name came in late 2008, when they announced reunion shows at the end of 2008 [5] [6] and the beginning of 2009. [7]

Pestilence is a Dutch death metal band founded in Enschede in 1986. They have been through various membership changes throughout their existence, with guitarist-vocalist Patrick Mameli as the sole constant member. After disbanding in order to pursue other musical directions in 1994, Pestilence reunited in 2008, and was put on a "permanent hold" in July 2014. However, the band reunited once again in October 2016. To date, Pestilence has released nine studio albums, and they are apart of "progressive death metal's Big Four", alongside with Death, Atheist, and Cynic.

Burst was a Swedish progressive metal band from Kristinehamn, active between 1993 and 2009. Resurrection Macabre is the fifth studio album by Dutch death metal band Pestilence, which was released on 16 March 2009. It is the band's first album of original material in 16 years, since 1993's Spheres and this fact is referenced in the album's title; hence resurrection. Re-recordings of earlier Pestilence songs make appearances as bonus tracks on the record.

Founding members Didier Van Coppenolle (guitarist) and Bart Brion (drummer) decided to join forces, writing their first songs, embracing a unique blend of groovy Thrash Metal with Hard Core elements. The band is considered as one of the last of its generation still active in Belgium. Trouble Agency was born in the ashes of 1980s thrash metal bands Cyclone and Decadence.
