Congo-Kinshasa competed at the 1968 Summer Olympics in Mexico City, Mexico. It was the first time that the nation was represented at the Olympic Games. Five competitors, all men, took part in two events in the cycling.
The Central African Republic competed at the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, United States. It had been 16 years since the previous appearance of the nation at the Summer Olympics, when it made its debut at the 1968 Games in Mexico City, Mexico. The Central African Republic was represented by three athletes; marathon runner Adolphe Ambowodé and two boxers, Dieudonné Kossi and Antoine Longoudé. There were no medals won by the trio.

Agafia Orlov-Buhaev-Constantin is a Romanian sprint canoer who competed from the mid-1970s to the early 1980s. Competing in three Summer Olympics, she won a gold medal in the K-4 500 m event at Los Angeles in 1984.
Antoine Longoudé is a boxer from the Central African Republic. Longoudé competed for his country at the 1984 Summer Olympics as a welterweight. He was defeated by Romanian Rudel Obreja in the first round.

In 2007, he was elected Vice President of AIBA, and was the Chief Technical Officer for amateur boxing at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing.
