Copeland is an American rock band formed in 2001 by the singer, pianist Aaron Marsh (who also plays guitar) with his friend, the bass guitarist and backing vocalist James Likeness, in Lakeland, Florida.

Aaron Marsh and Bryan Laurenson signed a record deal with the independent label The Militia Group in 2002 and released their first album, Beneath Medicine Tree , a year later. In 2004, 2005 and 2006, they performed at the annual Cornerstone Florida Festival in Orlando, Florida. In Motion , Copeland's second full-length album, was released on March 22, 2005. It was produced by Matt Goldman and Aaron Marsh, and mixed by Ken Andrews. The early copies of In Motion included a four-song acoustic EP (a compilation of lo-fi versions of songs from In Motion itself), as well as "Beneath Medicine Tree".
Beneath Medicine Tree has a heavy medical theme. Aaron Marsh stated that the lyrics in this album were inspired by the hospitalization of his girlfriend and the death of his grandmother. The album booklet includes photographs of hospital scenes by then-bass guitarist James Likeness. [1] Marsh says that, "With Beneath Medicine Tree , I wanted to make a record that moves people," while "With In Motion , I wanted to make a record that makes people move." [2]
The lead singer, Marsh, has appeared with other bands such as the Morning Of on their album The Way I Fell In , Underoath on their album They're Only Chasing Safety , Anberlin on their album Cities and Lydia on their album Illuminate .
Columbia Records announced their signing of Copeland in a press release dated November 14, 2006. [3] The band announced that they had officially left the label on September 6, 2007.[ citation needed ]
On July 18, 2007, James Likeness announced his decision to no longer be a part of Copeland. He cited pursuing a career as a graphic designer (a field in which he has a college degree) as a chief reason in his decision. [4]
About a year after Eat, Sleep, Repeat, they released Dressed Up & in Line on November 20, 2007. It is composed of B-sides, remixes and rarities.[ citation needed ]
A year afterwards, in 2008, Copeland released their final album, You Are My Sunshine under Tooth & Nail Records. The band then decided to split up, holding the Farewell Tour before they ended.[ citation needed ]
The band's fifth studio album, Ixora, was released in November 2014. Marsh, who produced at his Lakeland, Florida, studio, The Vanguard Room, reunited with Bryan Laurenson, Stephen Laurenson and Jonathan Bucklew for the album.[ citation needed ] This was followed by the release of Blushing on February 14, 2019. Although claimed by some to be a Christian band, Marsh has said that they are not. He said, "It's not our nature to have religious connotations. We are not a ministry band. We have some people in the band that are Christians, but that is not a focus of our band." [6] "We have no agenda in our band other than art." [7]

Copeland teamed up with Instant Live to create a series of 21 limited edition CDs of many of the band's shows during their tour with Daphne Loves Derby, The Spill Canvas and Melee, between October 13 and November 7, 2005.[ citation needed ]

Anberlin is an American alternative rock band formed in Winter Haven, Florida, in 2002. Since the beginning of 2007, the band consists of lead vocalist Stephen Christian, guitarists Joseph Milligan and Christian McAlhaney, bassist Deon Rexroat, and drummer Nathan Young.
In Motion is the second full-length album by the Lakeland, Florida-based band Copeland. It was released in 2005. The album includes a bonus disc of the Sony Connect Sessions with acoustic versions of "Don't Slow Down," "Pin Your Wings," "Take Care," and "Coffee," the latter two of which are taken from Beneath Medicine Tree.
The National is an American rock band from Cincinnati, Ohio, formed in Brooklyn, New York City in 1999. The band consists of Matt Berninger (vocals), twin brothers Aaron Dessner and Bryce Dessner, as well as brothers Scott Devendorf (bass) and Bryan Devendorf (drums). The City Sleeps in Flames is the debut studio album by American post-hardcore band Scary Kids Scaring Kids, released through Immortal Records on June 28, 2005. The album produced three music videos, for the songs "The Only Medicine", "My Darkest Hour" and the title track. The title of the album and the song of the same name refers to the group's loss of structure in their lives, creating a new one on the road. The cover recalls the final scene of the movie Fight Club. The song "The World as We Know It" makes a reference to the movie 28 Days Later.
Stephen Christian is an American singer and songwriter best known as the lead vocalist of the alternative rock band Anberlin, as well as the vocalist of his acoustic side-project Anchor & Braille. He and his bandmates started Anberlin in 2002, after the demise of their previous group, known as SaGoh 24/7. He is one of the main songwriters for Anberlin alongside Joseph Milligan, and with the band had released seven albums before their initial disbandment in 2014 and began working on an eighth album in 2020. Many of the albums in the Anberlin discography have peaked in the top ten on various Billboard charts.
Eat, Sleep, Repeat is the third full-length release and major label debut from Lakeland, Florida's Copeland. It was recorded at Glow in the Dark in Atlanta during June and July 2006. "We always said that we would only consider working with a label that was passionate about our band and our music, and the folks at Columbia are just that," the band said in a blog on its MySpace page. "Nothing drastic will change other than the fact that hopefully a few more ears will get to hear our music."
Anchor & Braille is the recording alias for American singer-songwriter Stephen Christian, known for fronting the alternative rock band Anberlin. Originally conceived as a side project for Christian, Anchor & Braille became his primary vehicle for releasing music after Anberlin's initial dissolution in 2014. Christian has described Anchor & Braille as a collaborative effort, having recorded with musicians such as Aaron Marsh of Copeland, Micah Tawlks, and Kevin Dailey of Civil Twilight. Since its beginning, Christian has released four studio albums under this name, Felt in 2009, The Quiet Life in 2012, Songs for the Late Night Drive Home in 2016 and Tension in 2020.

Due to issues during recording that prolonged its completion, the album's release date was postponed until November 24, 2014.
Blushing is the sixth studio album by American band Copeland. It was released on Valentine's Day 2019 via Tooth & Nail Records. It is the band's follow-up to their 2014 album Ixora, as well as their second album released since their reunion.
