He was subsequently elected to a full term. In November 2011 Barborak announced he would run for the House seat against incumbent Republican Craig Newbold. He defeated Newbold in the election with 50.57% of the vote. Barborak lost re-election in 2014 to Tim Ginter.

Ginter is an ordained minister,and has also worked in various other occupations. He ran against Jason Wilson in 2008 for the Ohio Senate,but lost. In 2014,Ginter replaced Craig Newbold as the Republican candidate for state representative in the 5th district. Ginter went on to defeat incumbent Democrat Nick Barborak in the 2014 general election with 59% of the vote. He is a member of the Ohio Farm Bureau,National Rifle Association,Buckeye Firearms Association,Salem Chamber of Commerce,an associate member of the Columbiana County Township Association,a member of the Columbiana County Republican Party Central Committee,and currently serves as an appointed member of the Ohio Commission on Fatherhood.
Hearcel F. Craig is an American politician serving as the Senator for the 15th District of the Ohio State Senate. Craig formerly served in the United States Army and then had a career with the Ohio Department of Youth Services. He then went on to help develop City Year in Columbus. He has a degree from Central Michigan University. In 2007,Craig was appointed to serve on Columbus City Council. While on Council,Craig rose to serve as President Pro Tempore.
Kyle Koehler is the Representative for the 79th district of the Ohio House of Representatives. Koehler was born and raised in Springfield,Ohio,attended Springfield's Catholic Central High School and then Wright State University. He and his family own a small business in Springfield. In 2014,Koehler opted to make his first run for elected office,and decided to run for the Ohio House of Representatives to replace Ross McGregor who was term-limited. He faced Democrat Darryl Jackson in a competitive seat. Koehler went on to defeat Jackson 61%-39%.
