Craig Von Dohren (born August 13, 1963) is an American Dirt Modified racing driver. A NASCAR Northeast Regional champion, Von Dohren has over 350 career wins, at 13 tracks in five states. [1] [4] [5]
Craig Von Dohren grew up racing go-karts against fellow Oley PA resident Duane Howard before transitioning to modifieds in his teens. [6] His first victory came in 1980 at Big Diamond Raceway, two weeks before his 17th birthday. He has since gone on to win four 358 Modified titles at Big Diamond, as well as 12 track championships at Grandview Speedway, where he tops the all-time win list. [7] [8]
Von Dohren, who has focused his career on the Mid-Atlantic states, has also competed successfully at Georgetown Speedway DE, Hagerstown Speedway MD, and Penn National Speedway PA. He was inducted into the Northeast Dirt Modified Hall of Fame in 2022. [5] [9]
Frank E. Schneider was an American stock car, modified, midget, and sprint car racer. He had one NASCAR Grand National Series victory at Old Dominion Speedway in 1958 driving a 1957 Chevrolet. He also won the 1952 NASCAR modified title, where it is suspected that he scored at least 100 wins. Schneider earned his nickname "The Old Master" through his ability to master anything with wheels.
Kenny Brightbill, nicknamed the "Shillington Slingshot" and "Mr. Excitement" is a former NASCAR and professional dirt modified driver from Sinking Spring, Pennsylvania. He has won 441 career professional races and is also the all time wins leader of Reading Fairground Speedway with 135 career wins. Brightbill has won many of the most noted races for dirt track modifieds in the Northeastern United States, most notably 1988 Syracuse Miller High Life 300.
Gerald Chamberlain is a retired American stock car racing driver from Everett, Pennsylvania. Chamberlain won 22 feature events at the Reading (PA) Speedway in 1971. He broke the track record the next year with 31 victories in one year.
