Creative Differences Productions, Inc. (formerly known as Termite Art Productions from 1995 to 2004) is an American film and television production company that is headquartered in Pasadena, California and was founded in 1995 by Erik Nelson. [1]

History

The company was founded in 1995 as Termite Art Productions by Erik Nelson, initially producing reality and documentary television shows and specials including Ripley's Believe It or Not! , Unsolved History , Incredible Vacation Videos and More Than Human .

On June 19, 1998, Lions Gate Media, the division of the upstart Canadian entertainment company Lions Gate Entertainment acquired Termite Art for $2.75 million. [2] [3]

In 2002, Termite Art formed a new division, the Format Farm. [4]

On March 22, 2004, the company spun-off from Lions Gate and renamed as Creative Differences Productions, Inc., the company expanded into film production in 2005 with Werner Herzog's Grizzly Man, and followed this up in 2007 with the Oscar nominated Encounters at the End of the World . [5]

Despite the 2004 spin-off and renaming as Creative Differences Productions, Lionsgate retained the rights to some Termite Art and Creative Differences television shows and specials. [6]

Millennium Force Steel roller coaster at Cedar Point

Millennium Force is a steel roller coaster located at Cedar Point amusement park in Sandusky, Ohio. Manufactured by Intamin, it was the park's fourteenth roller coaster when it opened in 2000, dating back to the opening of Blue Streak in 1964. Upon completion, Millennium Force broke six world records and was the world's first giga coaster, a term coined by Intamin and Cedar Point to represent roller coasters that exceed 300 feet (91 m) in height and complete a full circuit. It was briefly the tallest and fastest in the world until Steel Dragon 2000 opened later the same year. The ride is also the third-longest roller coaster in North America following The Beast at Kings Island and Fury 325 at Carowinds.

Weston Woods Studios American film production company

Weston Woods Studios is a production company that makes audio and short films based on well-known books for children. It was founded in 1953 by Morton Schindel in Weston, Connecticut, and named after the wooded area near his home. The company's first project was Andy and the Lion in 1954, and its first animated film was The Snowy Day in 1964. Starting in 1968, Weston Woods began a long collaboration with animator Gene Deitch and opened international offices in Henley-on-Thames, England, UK, in 1972; Canada in 1975; and Australia in 1977. In addition to making the films, the company also conducted interviews with the writers, illustrators, and makers of the films. The films appeared on children's television programs such as Captain Kangaroo, Pinwheel, The Great Space Coaster, Lunchbox, Eureeka's Castle, and Mister Moose's Fun Time.
