Crystal Nicole Pompey Johnson (born November 10, 1983), also known by her stage name as Cristyle (stylized as Cri$tyle), is an American singer and songwriter. She signed with Jermaine Dupri's So So Def Recordings in a joint venture with EMI in 2007, [2] but parted ways with both labels in favor of Blackground and Interscope Records, through which she released her 2011 debut single, "Pinch Me". Produced by former label boss Dupri, the song failed to chart. Her debut extended play (EP), Masterpiece (2015), was released independently.

Career

Nicole was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia. She started singing at different talent shows and open mics in Atlanta and wrote her first song at the age of ten.

As a songwriter, Crystal has written songs for Girlicious, Janet Jackson, Jennifer Lopez, Keke Palmer, Teyana Taylor, Tiffany Evans, Chilli, Natasha Bedingfield, Wonder Girls, Rihanna, and Jessica Sanchez. She has co-written songs with Mariah Carey and wrote songs featured on the projects of Brandy, Ciara, Jennifer Hudson, and Beyoncé. [3] [4] [5]

In 2023, Crystal auditioned for the 24th season of The Voice. In a montage, Reba McEntire was the only coach to turn, defaulting Crystal to her team.

For the battles, Crystal was paired with her teammate, Caitlin Quisenberry. Reba chose Quisenberry to advance and John Legend, the only remaining coach with a steal, opted not to steal Nicole, eliminating her from the competition.

It is a pop, dancehall and R&B song that features elements of reggae, and reggaeton. The lyrics revolve around Rihanna asking a DJ to turn the volume of her favorite songs up louder. Prior to signing with Def Jam, Rihanna was discovered by record producer Evan Rogers in Barbados, who helped Rihanna record demo tapes to send out to several record labels. Jay-Z, the former chief executive officer (CEO) and president of Def Jam, was given Rihanna's demo by Jay Brown, his A&R at Def Jam, and invited her to audition for the label after hearing the song that would become her first single, "Pon de Replay". She auditioned for Jay-Z and L.A. Thaddis Laphonia "Kuk" Harrell is an American songwriter, vocal producer, arranger and engineer. He was a member of a songwriting–production team composed of himself, Christopher "Tricky" Stewart and Terius "The-Dream" Nash. Jean and Gad also handled its production alongside Beyoncé. Inspired by the difficult break-up of a romantic relationship, the song was initially recorded by Jean, whose record company rejected it. Beyoncé then recorded her own version. Jean was upset when she learned that Beyoncé was releasing it as a single, but eventually, they reached an agreement. <i>Killer Love</i> 2011 studio album by Nicole Scherzinger

Killer Love is the debut solo studio album by Pussycat Dolls lead singer Nicole Scherzinger which features special guest appearances from Sting, Enrique Iglesias & 50 Cent. It was released on March 18, 2011, by Interscope Records, in association with its affiliated record labels. Scherzinger had been working on a solo album since 2005, under the title Her Name Is Nicole and was originally due for release in 2007. However, unsuccessful singles and poor timing led the project being pushed back numerous times. After releasing The Pussycat Dolls' second studio album Doll Domination (2008), Scherzinger shelved the project entirely citing bad timing and creative issues as the reasons for its cancellation. Many of its songs were reassigned to the Dolls or other artists. In 2010, Moroccan producer RedOne was brought on board for a second attempt at launching her solo album.

The 2016 Soul Train Music Awards was held at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, on November 6, 2016. It was later aired on Centric and BET on November 27, 2016. The ceremony, hosted by Erykah Badu for the second year in a row, honored artists in 12 different categories. Drake was the most nominated artist with twelve, followed by Beyoncé (10) and Rihanna (8). During the ceremony american singer and songwriter Brandy was honored with the Lady of Soul Award for her contributions to the music industry. Angela Renee Beyincé is an American songwriter, actress, and music executive.
