Cuba Cuba are a Welsh pop-rock band from Cardiff, South Wales, formed in 2007.

They are currently signed to Walnut Tree Records and are part of the Escape Artist Management roster along with fellow Welsh band Tiger Please. Critics have often compared their sound to the likes of Bloc Party, Friendly Fires, The Killers, Minus The Bear and Phoenix.

They have enjoyed spot plays from BBC Radio 1 DJs Huw Stevens, Jen Long, [1] Ally Mccrae and Bethan Elfyn as well as recording two Radio 1 Introducing live sessions in 2009 [2] and 2011. The band have also enjoyed airtime on BBC Radio 1, BBC Radio 6, BBC Radio Wales, XFM, Nation Radio and many more outside of the UK. Tracks from their debut album have also been used on television programmes for the BBC, ITV, ESPN, S4C, WRU TV and CCFC TV. They have played support slots for such acts as Alice Cooper, Elton John, Lionel Richie, The Jackson 4, Friendly Fires, The Airborne Toxic Event, Joy Formidable, Funeral For A Friend, Lights, Funeral Party as well as playing prestigious festivals such as Reading and Leeds 2011, Swn 2011, Surfstock 2009 and In The City 2009.

In 2009, Cuba Cuba released their debut EP Tales from the Cabin, which received positive reviews from Rock Sound, Kerrang (3 out 5 rating) [3] and Big Cheese magazines. Xtaster noted 'If they continue to build on their promising beginnings, Cuba Cuba stand every chance of being the latest Welsh export.' In 2010 their music video for track 'Icarus' reached No.4 in the Lava TV Top 20 Chart and No.5 in the Lava TV most requested chart. In May 2010 they released their debut single 'Home Is The Fire' which has featured as backing music to S4C's Heineken Cup Programmes, ITV's 'Captains Climb', ESPN Cricket and WRU TV.

Cuba Cuba spent the summer of 2010 finishing their debut album with producers Todd Campbell (Straight Lines, Tiger Please) and Tristan Ivemy (Frank Turner, The Holloways). The album was released on Walnut Tree Records on 27 June 2011 titled Where Else Is Safe But The Road? [4]

The album has received positive reviews from the press so far. [5] [6] Alter The Press gave the album 9/10 noting that it was "an absolute triumph" [7]

In the summer of 2011 Cuba Cuba played the BBC Introducing Stages at Reading and Leeds Festivals. [8]

In late 2012, the band re-emerged with new material but, under the new guise of Safari Gold [9]

Cân i Gymru is a Welsh television show broadcast on S4C annually. It was first introduced in 1969 when BBC Cymru wanted to enter the Eurovision Song Contest. The winner of the contest represents Wales at the annual Pan Celtic Festival held in Ireland and is also awarded a cash prize.

None the Less was an English band from Watford, Hertfordshire who originally formed in 2007.

"It's Not the End of the World, But I Can See It from Here" is the twelfth single by Welsh rock band Lostprophets, and the first from their fourth studio album The Betrayed. It was released on 11 October 2009 in the UK, the first time they had released anything since April 2007. The release also features the song "AC Ricochet". Drummer Ilan Rubin wrote the song when he was 16.

Between The Screams were a British progressive metal band from Southend-on-Sea, UK. Considered one of the bands at the forefront of the relatively short-lived ambient metal scene in the late 2000s that combined elements of metalcore, electronics, ambient Shoegazing and post metal.

Carwyn Meurig Ellis is a Welsh musician, composer, arranger, multi-instrumentalist and record producer. He is known as the frontman of British alternative band Colorama, as a member of the Pretenders and as a long-time collaborator with Edwyn Collins. In 2014, they worked together on the soundtrack to the film The Possibilities Are Endless which won the Mojo 'Film of the Year' Award.

Al Lewis is a Welsh singer and songwriter. He became known in the Welsh language media after his song came second in the Cân i Gymru contest in 2007.

Tiger Please is a Welsh indie / alternative rock five-piece band from Cardiff, Wales. The band formed in August 2008. The band's influences are U2, Sigur Rós, Kings of Leon, John Mayer and Counting Crows. They signed with Walnut Tree Records in 2009 and released their debut EP They Don't Change Under Moonlight. Kerrang! magazine, Rock Sound magazine, and Classic Rock magazine praised the EP and featured the band on the Rock Sound and Classic Rock cover-mount albums. The band toured with Kids In Glass Houses, InMe, Twin Atlantic and Funeral For A Friend.

The Blackout are a rock band from Merthyr Tydfil, Wales, formed in 2003. They released their EP The Blackout! The Blackout! The Blackout! In October 2007 the band released their debut album, We Are the Dynamite. Their second record, The Best in Town, was released on 25 May 2009 in Europe and 23 June 2009 in the US, both via Epitaph Records. The band's third album - titled Hope, was released on 4 April 2011, and charted at number 27 in the UK album chart. Their fourth studio album, titled Start the Party, was released on 21 January 2013. The Blackout's final release was a five track EP entitled Wolves, with their farewell tour held in early 2015, finishing in their hometown of Merthyr Tydfil on Saturday 28 March 2015.

While She Sleeps are a British metalcore band from Sheffield. Formed in 2006, the group consists of vocalist Lawrence Taylor, guitarists Sean Long and Mat Welsh, bassist Aaran McKenzie and drummer Adam Savage. They are currently signed to their own label Sleeps Brothers in the UK and in collaboration with Spinefarm Records in the US and UNFD in Australia. They have released three EPs, And This Is Just the Start, Split and The North Stands for Nothing, and five studio albums, This Is the Six, Brainwashed, You Are We, So What? and Sleeps Society. They received the Best British Newcomer award at the Kerrang! Awards 2012. The group has maintained the same line-up since its formation, with vocalist Taylor being the only bandmate who is not an original member. Despite this, he has still appeared on every release apart from the group's first two EPs.

Huw Evans, also known as H. Hawkline, is a Welsh singer-songwriter and radio and television presenter based in Cardiff. He also lived and worked in Los Angeles for several years. He performs in both English and Welsh. His stage name is taken from Richard Brautigan's book The Hawkline Monster: A Gothic Western.

The Gentle Good is the stage name of Gareth Bonello, a singer-songwriter and folk musician from Cardiff who performs in English and Welsh. The stage name is inspired by Bonello's, with "Gareth" traditionally meaning "Gentle" in Welsh. In addition to his own material, Bonello has had a longstanding partnership with musician Richard James and has also collaborated with other artists as a session musician.
