Cyril Challinor (13 May 1912 — 29 November 1976) was a Welsh international rugby union player.

Challinor hailed from Crynant near Neath and joined Crynant RFC as a teenager. [1]

A wing-forward, Challinor moved to Neath RFC during the 1933–34 season, from where he gained his solitary Wales cap in the 1939 Home Nations, playing against England at Twickenham. [2]

Challinor remained with Neath until retiring after the 1945–46 season, but continued to serve the club with various roles on the committee, including chairman. [3] He was an engineering foreman by profession and worked at Blaenant Colliery. [1]

Lee Jarvis is a former international Welsh rugby union player who was known as a top points scorer with the boot. Despite being tipped as the "next best thing" during his early career and being a great points kicker Jarvis only earned one cap for Wales at full international level. After retiring from rugby union as a player, Jarvis took up coaching. He is currently head coach at Rhydyfelin RFC.

Lyn Jones is a former Wales international rugby union player. Originally playing as a flanker, Jones subsequently became a coach. He played most of his playing career for Neath RFC and started his coaching career at the same club. Jones has coached professional clubs in Wales and England and, in 2018, became head coach of the Russian national rugby union team. He subsequently became a coach with national rugby team of the Netherlands.

David Francis Pickering is a rugby union administrator, coach and former player who played as a flanker for Llanelli RFC and Neath RFC. He won 23 caps for the Wales national team between 1983 and 1987, and captained the national team on eight occasions.

James Edward Ringer is a retired Wales international rugby union player. He is currently the defensive coach for Merthyr RFC and Sales Director for Cornerstone Commercial Finance.

Ernest Raymond "Roy" John was a Wales and British Lions international rugby union lock. He played club rugby for Crynant and Neath. John was capped 19 times for Wales and was a member of two Grand Slam winning teams. In 1950 he was selected for the 1950 British Lions tour to New Zealand and Australia. John was an agile runner for a lock, but was most notable for his excellent ability in line-outs.

Ness Flowers is a Welsh former rugby union and professional rugby league footballer who played in the 1970s and 1980s. He captained the Welsh Schools Under-15's in 1971, and played for Wales Youth in 1973. At club level he played rugby union (RU) for Neath RFC, Crynant RFC, Ystradgynlais RFC, Abercrave RFC and Neath Athletic RFC, and representative level rugby league (RL) for Wales, and at club level for Wigan, Huddersfield and Cardiff City (Bridgend) Blue Dragons, as a scrum-half, i.e. number 7.

Brian Anthonie Sparks MBE was a Welsh police officer, teacher, head teacher, founder-chairman of the Welsh Schools Basketball Association in 1963, and rugby union, and professional rugby league footballer who played in the 1950s and 1960s. He played representative level rugby union (RU) for Wales and Devon, at invitational level for Barbarian F.C., and at club level for Pontypool RFC, Bridgend RFC, Neath RFC, Glamorgan Police RFC, Torquay Athletic RFC, and St. Luke's College (captain) in the Middlesex Sevens Final victory of 1957, as a Flanker, i.e. number 6 or 7, and club level rugby league (RL) for Halifax (captain).
