The National Football League (NFL) is a professional American football league composed of 32 teams, divided equally between the American Football Conference (AFC) and the National Football Conference (NFC). The NFL is one of the major professional sports leagues in the United States and Canada and the highest professional level of American football in the world. Each NFL season begins annually with a three-week preseason in August, followed by the 18-week regular season, which runs from early September to early January, with each team playing 17 games and having one bye week. Following the conclusion of the regular season, seven teams from each conference, including four division winners and three wild card teams, advance to the playoffs, a single-elimination tournament, which culminates in the Super Bowl, played in early February between the winners of the AFC and NFC championship games.
The Washington Commanders are a professional American football team based in the Washington metropolitan area. The Commanders compete in the National Football League (NFL) as a member of the National Football Conference (NFC) East division. The team plays its home games at Northwest Stadium in Landover, Maryland; its headquarters and training facility are in Ashburn, Virginia. The Commanders have played more than 1,300 games and have won more than 600. Washington was among the first NFL franchises with a fight song, "Hail to the Commanders", which is played by their marching band after every home game touchdown. The Commanders are owned by a group managed by Josh Harris, who acquired the franchise from Daniel Snyder in 2023 for $6.05 billion.
Willie Jerome Brown III was an American professional football defensive tackle who played for the Philadelphia Eagles of the National Football League (NFL). He played his entire five-year NFL career with the Eagles from 1987 to 1991, before his death just before the 1992 season. He was selected to two Pro Bowls in 1990 and 1991. He played college football for the Miami Hurricanes.

Michael Fitzgerald Alexander is an American former professional football player who played for the Los Angeles Raiders and Buffalo Bills of the National Football League (NFL). After his career in the NFL, he went on to play for the Baltimore Stallions of the Canadian Football League (CFL). Alexander played collegiately at Penn State University and attended Piscataway Township High School in Piscataway, New Jersey.
Charles Brown is an American former professional football player who was a wide receiver in the National Football League (NFL) for six seasons. Christopher Holtz Pike is an American former professional football defensive tackle who played for three seasons in the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for North Carolina and Tulsa. He was selected by the Philadelphia Eagles in the sixth round of the 1987 NFL draft. He was traded to the Cleveland Browns on March 25, 1988, in exchange for defensive back D.D. Hoggard and a 1988 sixth-round pick. He played for the Browns in 1989 and 1990, appearing in 24 games with 11 starts in 1990. Pike signed with the San Diego Chargers in 1991 as a Plan B free agent, but did not report to the team and was released on April 25, 1991. He signed with the Los Angeles Rams on September 12, 1991, and played in eight games with four starts for the team in 1991.
D'Wayne "Dee" Eskridge is an American professional football wide receiver and kick returner for the Miami Dolphins of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Western Michigan.
