D.R. Bendre Cricket Stadium is a cricket stadium in the city of Hubli. The stadium was constructed in 2012 and serves as second home to Karnataka Cricket Team. The stadium is built according to international standards, with the seating capacity of 50,000. The stadium was inaugurated by the former Chief Minister of Karnataka Jagadish Shettar in November 2012. The Ground is named after a great Kannada Poet and Jnanpith Award Winner Mr. D.R. Bendre.

The stadium hosted third unofficial test match between India A cricket team and West Indies A cricket team in which player like Gautam Gambhhir, Zaheer Khan, Cheteshwar Pujara played as India A won by innings and 51 runs. [1] The match also saw triple century by Cheteshwar Pujara. [2]

The stadium is the home ground for Karnataka Premier League team Hubli Tigers.

The West Indies cricket team toured India, playing two Test matches and a three-match One Day International series against the Indian national team from 31 October to 27 November 2013. The series, not initially in the ICC Future Tours Programme, was hastily arranged by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) following the postponement of India's scheduled tour to South Africa to December, with that series itself reduced to 2 Tests and 3 ODIs due to a spat between the BCCI and Cricket South Africa.

The Indian cricket team toured South Africa from 5 to 30 December 2013, playing three One Day Internationals (ODI) and the two Test matches against the hosts. The Indian team was led by Mahendra Singh Dhoni while South Africa was captained by AB de Villiers and Graeme Smith. The tour began with the three-match ODI series, with South Africa winning the series 2–0. Quinton de Kock, South Africa's wicket-keeper became the fifth player to score three centuries in consecutive innings of ODIs. South Africa won the Test series 1–0, the first Test ending in a draw. Jacques Kallis, the country's most prolific run-scorer in Tests, announced his retirement from the format after the second Test at Durban.

The Bangladesh cricket team toured India in February 2017 to play one Test match. It was the first time that Bangladesh toured India. Initially the tour was scheduled to take place in August 2016, but with other commitments made by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) said that the first week of February looked more likely. The date of the Test was confirmed in August 2016. In January 2017 the BCCI moved the date back by one day. The Decision Review System (DRS) was used in the Test match.

The India cricket team toured Australia from November 2018 to January 2019 to play four Tests, three One Day Internationals (ODIs) and three Twenty20 International (T20I) matches. Initially, the Test match at the Adelaide Oval was planned to be a day/night fixture, but the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) declined the offer from Cricket Australia to play the match under lights. In April 2018, the Western Australian Cricket Association confirmed that the Perth Stadium would host its first ever Test match. During the second Test, it became the tenth venue in Australia to host a Test match.

The Australian cricket team toured India in September 2022 to play three Twenty20 International (T20I) matches as a preparatory series before 2022 ICC Men's T20 World Cup. They later returned in February and March 2023 to play four Test and three One Day International (ODI) matches. The Test matches formed part of the 2021–2023 ICC World Test Championship.
