The Dhaka Metropolitan Football Association Cup or DMFA Cup was an association football tournament held in Dhaka and organized by Dhaka Metropolitan League Committee under the supervision of the Bangladesh Football Federation. [1] [2] [3]

<i>Janakantha</i> Daily newspaper in Dhaka, Bangladesh

Daily Janakantha is a Bengali daily newspaper published from Dhaka, Bangladesh. It is owned by Janakantha Shilpa Paribar (GJSP). This newspaper was first published on 21 February 1993. Mohammad Atikullah Khan Masud was the editor of the newspaper till his death. In 1999 Bangladesh army personnel had to defuse a landmine left at the newspaper office by suspected Islamist militants. The newspaper has a Secular to Liberal political leaning and is published in both print and online versions.

Pogose Laboratory School and College, IER, Jagannath University was established in Dhaka on June 12, 1848, as the first private school of the country by Armenian merchant Nicholas Pogose, who was an ex-student of Dhaka Collegiate School. It is located at Chittaranjan Avenue. The school was managed as a proprietary institution and in 1871, about a year after the death of Pogose, it was taken over by Mohini Mohan Das, a banker and zamindar. After the death of Das in 1896 his estate kept the school open.

Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Tunnel, abbreviated asBangabandhu Tunnel, is an underwater expressway tunnel in the port city of Chittagong, Bangladesh under the Karnaphuli river. The length of the entire route is 9.39 kilometres (5.83 mi), with the tunnel making up 3.32 kilometres (2.06 mi) of the length. The tunnel diameter is 10.80 metres (35.4 ft). It is expected, over 17,000 vehicles will be able to use this tunnel daily. The cost of the project is estimated at US$1.1B, of which around half is financed by the Exim Bank of China. The Karnaphuli Tunnel is the first underwater road tunnel in South Asia. It is expected to improve the Dhaka—Chittagong—Cox's Bazar highway network. A Chinese company, China Communications Construction Company, was selected to construct it. The tunnel segments were produced in Zhenjiang, China.

"O Amar Desher Mati" is a Bengali patriotic song written by Rabindranath Tagore. It was written against the Partition of Bengal in 1905. Indira Debi Chowdhurani provided the notation of the song. This song was included in the book named "Shawdesh". It was composed in Pilu-Baul Raga and Dadra Taal.
