Dagoretti Constituency was an electoral constituency in Kenya. It is one of eight constituencies of Nairobi. [1] It was located to the west of Nairobi. It consisted of the western suburbs of Nairobi. Dagoretti constituency had common boundaries with Dagoretti Division of Nairobi. The entire constituency was located within Nairobi City Council area. The constituency had an area of 39 km². The constituency boundaries were altered prior to the 1997 elections to include Kenyatta/Golf Course ward from Lang'ata, and moved Kangemi to Westlands. The constituency was partly formed from what was Nairobi West Constituency from 1963 to 1969.

Before the general election of 2013, Dagoretti Constituency was divided, with the bulk of the western and southern parts forming Dagoretti South Constituency; the south-east stretch combined with part of Lang'ata Constituency to form Kibra Constituency; the rest was combined with part of Westlands Constituency to form Dagoretti North Constituency. Kamukunji Constituency is an electoral constituency in Kenya. It is one of seventeen constituencies of Nairobi County. It consists of central to eastern areas of Nairobi. Kamukunji constituency had common boundaries with Pumwani Division of Nairobi. The entire constituency is located within Nairobi City County area. The constituency has an area of 8.80 km2 (3.4 sq mi). The constituency forms part of what was known as Nairobi Central Constituency at the 1963 elections. Kamukunji Constituency was conceived prior to the 1969 elections. The current constituency boundaries were revised prior to the 2013 elections. It borders Starehe Constituency to the west, Makadara to the south, Embakasi West Constituency to the east, and Mathare Constituency to the north.

Kasarani Constituency is an electoral constituency in Nairobi. It is one of seventeen constituencies of Nairobi City County. The entire constituency is located within Nairobi City County, and has an area of 152.60 km2 (58.9 sq mi), making it the second-largest constituency in Nairobi after Lang'ata. It borders Ruaraka, Embakasi Central, Embakasi North, Embakasi East, Roysambu constituencies to the west; Ruiru constituency to the north; Matungulu constituency to the east and Mavoko constituency to the south-east.

Langata constituency had common boundaries with a now defunct Kibera Division of Nairobi. It is the largest constituency in Nairobi with an area of 196.80 km2 (76.0 sq mi). It was known as Nairobi South Constituency at the 1963 elections but since 1969 elections it has been known as Lang'ata Constituency.

Westlands is an electoral constituency in Kenya. It is one of the seventeen constituencies in Nairobi County. The constituency is situated within Westlands Sub-county, formerly Westlands District. The entire constituency is located within Nairobi City County. The constituency has an area of 72.4 km2 (28.0 sq mi). It was known as Nairobi Northwest Constituency at the 1963 elections, then as Parklands Constituency and since 1988 elections it has been known as Westlands Constituency.

Starehe is an electoral constituency in Kenya. It is one of seventeen constituencies in Nairobi City County. It consists of central and central to north areas of Nairobi. The constituency was established for the 1966 elections, with an area of 20 km2 (7.7 sq mi). It borders Westlands Constituency to the north; Mathare Constituency to the northeast; Kamukunji and Makadara constituencies to the east; Embakasi South Constituency to the south; Dagoretti North, Kibra and Lang'ata constituencies to the west.

Ganze Constituency is an electoral constituency in Kenya. It is one of seven constituencies in Kilifi County. The constituency has four wards, all electing Members of County Assembly for the Kilifi County Assembly. The constituency was established for the 1988 elections. After the IEBC adopted the Boundary commission's recommendation for new constituencies and boundaries, Ganze Constituency retained its name, and no major boundaries were altered. It has a population of 143,906 according to the 2019 census report by the Kenya National bureau of Statistics (KNBS). Its current member of parliament is Hon. Dagoretti is an area in the western part of Nairobi, the capital of Kenya. It straddles the Nairobi and Kiambu County boundary with the Dagoretti Road Reserve marking the psychological border point heading Northerly and North-Easterly. Administratively it is one of eight divisions of Nairobi. The Dagoretti division is divided into six Locations. The former electoral Dagoretti Constituency had the same boundaries as the now defuct Dagoretti division.

Nairobi City County is one of the 47 counties of Kenya. With a population of 4,397,073 in the 2019 census, it is the third smallest yet the most populous of the counties, also serving as the capital of Kenya. In 2013, the county entity was effected, replacing Nairobi City Council, the long-standing unit of administration since pre-independence. The city county consists of eleven gazetted sub-counties and eighty five electoral wards. On the national level, Nairobi also sends seventeen Members of Parliament across the constituencies and one County Woman Representative to the National Assembly; one senator to the Senate. The county government, which is allocated devolved functions as per the constitution, is headed by the county governor, who appoints his cabinet. The county's legislature is headed by the County Speaker, who presides over the County Assembly: single-member elected Members of the County Assembly (MCAs) represent their respective electoral wards. Additional MCAs are also nominated by political parties as a form of affirmative action.

Dagoretti North Constituency is one of 17 electoral constituency of Nairobi County. It was created by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission before the 2013 general election. The constituency has an area of 29 km2 (11.2 sq mi). Most of the area that forms Dagoretti North constituency was part of Westlands Constituency. A smaller portion of it was hived off from Dagoretti Constituency.

Kibra Constituency is an electoral constituency in Nairobi, one of 17 constituencies in the county, and has an area of 12.1 km². It is located to the southwest of the City of Nairobi, and includes most of the Kibera slum and adjoining estates. The constituency was created prior to the 2013 general election.

Riruta, also known as Riruta Satellite, is a settlement in the Dagoretti area of Nairobi. It is approximately 9.4 kilometres (5.8 mi) west of the central business district of Nairobi.


Waithaka is a settlement in Nairobi. Located within the Dagoretti area, it is approximately 11 km (7 mi) west of Nairobi central business district. It borders near Mutuini.

Mathare is a constituency in Nairobi. It is one of seventeen constituencies in Nairobi City County. It was created prior to the 2013 general election, when Starehe Constituency boundaries were revised. It is the smallest constituency in Nairobi with an area of 3.00 km2 (1.2 sq mi). It borders Ruaraka Constituency to the north; Roysambu and Westlands constituencies to the northwest; Embakasi Central Constituency to the east; Kamukunji Constituency to the south; and Starehe Constituency to the west.

Kileleshwa is a residential neighbourhood in the city of Nairobi. It is located approximately 5.2 kilometres (3 mi) from Nairobi's central business district. The neighbourhood was originally a low-density leafy suburb but after change in zoning regulations in the early 2000s, there has been significant mushrooming of high-rise flats in the area. It hosts mainly the middle income segment of the Nairobi residents.

Ng'ando is a neighbourhood in Dagoretti in the city of Nairobi. It is approximately 7.9 kilometres (4.9 mi) northwest of the central business district of Nairobi.

Mutu-ini is a neighbourhood in Dagoretti in the city of Nairobi. It is approximately 13 kilometres (8.1 mi) west of the central business district of Nairobi.

Dagoretti South is an electoral constituency in Kenya. It is one of seventeen constituencies of Nairobi County. The entire constituency is located within Nairobi County.
