Dagoretti South is an electoral constituency in Kenya. It is one of seventeen constituencies of Nairobi County. [1] The entire constituency is located within Nairobi County.

The constituency was created prior to the general election of 2013, when Dagoretti Constituency was divided, with the bulk of the western and southern parts forming Dagoretti South Constituency; the south-east stretch combined with part of Lang'ata Constituency to form Kibra Constituency; the rest was combined with part of Westlands Constituency to form Dagoretti North Constituency. [2] The constituency has an area of 25.30 km2 (9.8 sq mi).

The area member of parliament is John Kiarie.

Dagoretti constituency had common boundaries with Dagoretti Division of Nairobi. The entire constituency was located within Nairobi City Council area. The constituency had an area of 39 km². The constituency boundaries were altered prior to the 1997 elections to include Kenyatta/Golf Course ward from Lang'ata, and moved Kangemi to Westlands. The constituency was partly formed from what was Nairobi West Constituency from 1963 to 1969.

Kasarani Constituency is an electoral constituency in Nairobi. It is one of seventeen constituencies of Nairobi City County. The entire constituency is located within Nairobi City County, and has an area of 152.60 km2 (58.9 sq mi), making it the second-largest constituency in Nairobi after Lang'ata. It borders Ruaraka, Embakasi Central, Embakasi North, Embakasi East, Roysambu constituencies to the west; Ruiru constituency to the north; Matungulu constituency to the east and Mavoko constituency to the south-east.

It was known as Nairobi Northwest Constituency at the 1963 elections, then as Parklands Constituency and since 1988 elections it has been known as Westlands Constituency.

Nairobi City County is one of the 47 counties of Kenya. With a population of 4,397,073 in the 2019 census, it is the third smallest yet the most populous of the counties, also serving as the capital of Kenya. In 2013, the county entity was effected, replacing Nairobi City Council, the long-standing unit of administration since pre-independence. The city county consists of eleven gazetted sub-counties and eighty five electoral wards. On the national level, Nairobi also sends seventeen Members of Parliament across the constituencies and one County Woman Representative to the National Assembly; one senator to the Senate. The county government, which is allocated devolved functions as per the constitution, is headed by the county governor, who appoints his cabinet. Dagoretti North Constituency is one of 17 electoral constituency of Nairobi County. It was created by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission before the 2013 general election. The constituency has an area of 29 km2 (11.2 sq mi). Most of the area that forms Dagoretti North constituency was part of Westlands Constituency. A smaller portion of it was hived off from Dagoretti Constituency.

Kibra Constituency is an electoral constituency in Nairobi, one of 17 constituencies in the county, and has an area of 12.1 km². It is located to the southwest of the City of Nairobi, and includes most of the Kibera slum and adjoining estates. The constituency was created prior to the 2013 general election.

Waithaka is a settlement in Nairobi. Located within the Dagoretti area, it is approximately 11 km (7 mi) west of Nairobi central business district. It borders near Mutuini.

Beatrice Elachi is a Kenyan politician who currently serves as the member of parliament for Dagoretti North constituency. Prior, she served as Speaker of the Nairobi County Assembly from 6 September 2017 until her resignation on 11 August 2020. As Speaker of the Nairobi County Assembly, she replaced Alex Ole Magelo, who did not contest his seat. Immediately prior to her election, she was the Majority Whip in the Kenya Senate.
