Igembe South Constituency

Igembe South Constituency is an electoral constituency in Kenya. It is one of nine constituencies of Meru County. The constituency was established for the 1988 elections. It was known as Igembe Constituency before the 2007 elections.

Meru County is one of the 47 counties of Kenya, located in the former Eastern Province. The county lies between 0° 6′ North and 0° 1′ South and between latitudes 37° West and 38° East. It borders Isiolo County to the North, Tharaka/Nithi County to the East, Nyeri County to the South West and Laikipia County to the West. He previously served as Member of Parliament on a Kenya African National Union ticket elected to represent the Igembe South Constituency in the National Assembly of Kenya since the 2007 Kenyan parliamentary election a position he retained until 2017 when he became a senator. He was married to Marianne J. Kitany but by 2019, they had divorced.
