Mwea Constituency

Mwea Constituency is an electoral constituency in Kenya. It is one of four constituencies in Kirinyaga County. The constituency was established for the 1988 elections. Wangechi Warui stood as a candidate for the DCP in the 2027 election and she beat six other candidates. [1] She was one of several new women MPs as the total number of women MPs elected increased in 2027. However, she was the only woman elected in this county. [2]
