Dairis Leksis (born 9 April 1972) is a Latvian luger. He competed at the 1994 Winter Olympics and the 1998 Winter Olympics. [1]
The Latvia men's national basketball team represents Latvia in international basketball. They are organized and run by the Latvian Basketball Association. Latvia has reached the European Basketball Championship 15 times, with their ultimate success occurring during the inter-war period, when they became the first team to win the tournament in 1935. Four years later, they had another impressive run to come away with the silver in 1939. Although after 1939, Latvia were forced to suspend their national team operations, due to the Occupation of the Baltic states during World War II. Latvia regained independence in 1991, with their national team taking part in international competition once again a year later.
Martins Dukurs is a Latvian skeleton racer who has competed since 1998. He is a six-time world champion in men's skeleton, a double Olympic silver winner, and the athlete with the most World Cup titles with a total of 11, having won eight consecutive titles between 2010 and 2017, plus another three consecutive titles between 2020 and 2022.
Vera Zozulya is a Soviet luger who competed during the late 1970s and early 1980s. Competing in two Winter Olympics, she won the gold medal in the women's singles event at the 1980 Winter Olympics in Lake Placid, New York.
Aigars Kriķis was a Latvian Soviet luger who competed during the late 1970s. He won the gold medal at the men's doubles event at the 1978 FIL World Luge Championships in Imst, Austria.
Juris Šics is a Latvian luger. He competed in the 2006, 2010 and 2014 Winter Olympics, and won a silver medal in the men's doubles event in 2010 and two bronze medals in 2014, alongside his teammate and younger brother Andris Šics. The Šics brothers' three medals mean they have won more Olympic medals than any other Latvian sportsperson.
Jānis Ķipurs is a Latvian bobsledder who competed for the Soviet Union in the late 1980s. At the 1988 Winter Olympics in Calgary, he won two medals with a gold in the two-man event and a bronze in the four-man event.
Maija Tīruma is a former Latvian luger who competed from 2000 to 2013. She won two bronze medals in the mixed team relay event at the FIL World Luge Championships. Tīruma also won a gold medal in the mixed team relay event at the 2008 FIL European Luge Championships in Cesana, Italy and finished seventh in the women's singles event at those same championships. Competing in three Winter Olympics, she earned her best finish of ninth in the women's singles event at Vancouver in 2010.
Dairis Bertāns is a Latvian professional basketball player for VEF Rīga of the Latvian-Estonian Basketball League. Bertāns also plays for the Latvia national basketball team. He is the older brother of Dāvis Bertāns.

Alma Lepina-Lāce is a Latvian former competitive figure skater. She represented Latvia at the 1992 Winter Olympics in Albertville and finished 20th. Her best result at an ISU Championship was 13th at the 1993 Europeans in Helsinki, Finland. Lepina was coached by Oļegs Nagumanovs and Marika Nagumanova and represented the Daugava club.
Anžela Brice is a Latvian biathlete. She competed at the 2002 Winter Olympics and the 2006 Winter Olympics. She also competed in the cross-country skiing at the 1998 Winter Olympics.
Ivars Bērzups is a Latvian former bobsledder and businessman. He competed at the 1984 Winter Olympics and the 1988 Winter Olympics, representing the Soviet Union, and at the 1992 Winter Olympics, representing Latvia. In the 2009 Latvian municipal elections, he ran in the Babīte County Council elections as a member of Demokrāti.lv, but was not elected.
