Dan L. Hendricks (born December 5, 1958, in Los Angeles, California) is an American Thoroughbred horse racing trainer. [1]

Hendricks took out his trainer's license in 1987 after working for Richard Mandella for nine years. On July 7, 2004, Dan was paralyzed from the waist down as the result of a motocross accident at Perris, California. Six weeks later he returned to work in a wheelchair. [2]

During 2005 and 2006 Hendricks trained Brother Derek to major wins, including the Santa Anita Derby. [3]

Joseph Riddick "Rick" Hendrick III, nicknamed "Mr. H", is an American businessman. He is best known as the owner of the NASCAR team Hendrick Motorsports. He is also a co-owner of JR Motorsports and founder of the Hendrick Automotive Group, a network of over 100 car dealerships.

Burton Jesse Hendrick, born in New Haven, Connecticut, was an American author. While attending Yale University, Hendrick was editor of both The Yale Courant and The Yale Literary Magazine. He received his BA in 1895 and his master's in 1897 from Yale. After completing his degree work, Hendrick became editor of the New Haven Morning News. In 1905, after writing for The New York Evening Post and The New York Sun, Hendrick left newspapers and became a "muckraker" writing for McClure's Magazine. His "The Story of Life-Insurance" exposé appeared in McClure's in 1906. Following his career at McClure's, Hendrick went to work in 1913 at Walter Hines Page's World's Work magazine as an associate editor. In 1919, Hendrick began writing biographies, when he was the ghostwriter of Ambassador Morgenthau's Story for Henry Morgenthau, Sr.

John Carl Hendricks, known professionally as Jon Hendricks, was an American jazz lyricist and singer. He is one of the originators of vocalese, which adds lyrics to existing instrumental songs and replaces many instruments with vocalists, such as the big-band arrangements of Duke Ellington and Count Basie. He is considered one of the best practitioners of scat singing, which involves vocal jazz soloing. Jazz critic and historian Leonard Feather called him the "Poet Laureate of Jazz", while Time dubbed him the "James Joyce of Jive". Al Jarreau called him "pound-for-pound the best jazz singer on the planet—maybe that's ever been".

Elrod Jerome "Ellie" Hendricks was a U.S. Virgin Islander professional baseball player and coach. Patricia Hendricks is a 7th dan aikido teacher and founder of Aikido of San Leandro. She is also the head of division one of the California Aikido Association and is the first "menkyo-kaiden" in Saito's system of aiki-ken and aiki-jo. Patricia Hendricks as a 7th Dan, Shihan is one of the highest and most noted aikido instructors in the world. She teaches internationally and runs a full-time dojo in San Leandro, California. She has spent more than 7 years being uchi-deshi, living in dojos, primarily in Iwama, Japan under Morihiro Saito, a top student of the founder of aikido, Morihei Ueshiba. She was one of the closest students of Saito Sensei, with numerous appearances in Saito's books, as well as appearing with him in magazine articles and as his uke on major demonstrations including the All Japan Demo held in Tokyo, Japan every year.
