Dan Skogen (born December 14,1957) is a Minnesotan politician and a former member of the Minnesota Senate who represented District 10,which includes all or portions of Becker,Otter Tail and Wadena counties in the northwestern part of the state. [1]
Skogen grew up near Phelps Mill in Maine Township. He graduated from Battle Lake High School and has an audio communications degree from Thief River Falls Technical College. He is the sports director at radio stations in Wadena. He resides near Hewitt with his wife,Dee,and has two children. [2]
A Democrat,Skogen was first elected in 2006. He lost his re-election bid in the November 2,2010,general election to Republican Gretchen Hoffman. While in office,his special legislative concerns included the environment,agriculture,and education. [1]
Skogen was a member of the senate's Agriculture and Veterans Committee,the Commerce and Consumer Protection Committee,the Education Committee and the Environment and Natural Resources Committee. He also served on and chaired the Environment and Natural Resources Subcommittee for Public Lands and Waters,and on the Finance subcommittees for the Agriculture and Veterans Budget and Policy Division and the E-12 Education Budget and Policy Division. In 2012,Skogen ran for Minnesota Senate again in the redrawn Senate District 8 and lost to Bill Ingebrigtsen. [4]

Paul Koering is a Minnesota politician who serves on the County Board of Crow Wing County,Minnesota. He is a former member of the Minnesota Senate from Fort Ripley. A Republican,he represented District 12,which includes all or portions of Crow Wing and Morrison counties,including the city of Brainerd. A liquor store owner,funeral car service owner,and small farmer,he served two terms,but was defeated by former Rep. Paul Gazelka in the August 10,2010,Republican primary election. He was elected to the Crow Wing County Board in 2012 and re-elected unopposed in 2016;he represents the first district which contains the southern portion of Crow Wing County,including Fort Ripley,Roosevelt Township,Oak Lawn Township and the extreme northeast portion of the city of Brainerd.
James Murray Vickerman was an American politician from Minnesota who served as Minnesota State Senator,first elected in 1986 in the Minnesota Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party's "firestorm" that swept southwestern Minnesota during the height of the 1980s Midwestern farm crisis. In that election,he unseated incumbent Senator Doran Isackson,winning by a substantial margin. He was re-elected in 1990,1992,1996,2000,2002 and 2006. On February 22,2010,he announced that he would not seek an eighth term,noting that he was doing so "with the satisfaction that when it's done right,our government can and does serve people." His term officially ended on January 3,2011.

On May 20,2012,she was endorsed by the DFL party for the position,and won the election in November. In 2014,she ran unopposed and was reelected. She served as the Vice-Chair of the County Board,and Chair of the Housing and Redevelopment Authority. She retired from the county board in January 2019.
Leo T. Foley was an American politician who was a member of the Minnesota Senate representing District 49 from 1997 to 2003,and District 47 from 2003 to 2011,which includes portions of Anoka and Hennepin counties in the northern Twin Cities metropolitan area. A Democrat,he was first elected to the Senate in 1996,and was re-elected in 2000,2002 and 2006. Prior to the 2002 legislative redistricting,the area was known as District 49. He was unseated by Republican Benjamin Kruse in the 2010 general election.
