Dan Tiernan (born March 1996) [1] is a British stand-up comedian and actor. [2] In 2022, he was named "British Comedian of the Year", and won the BBC New Comedy Award. [3] [4] [5]
Born in Stockport, [6] Tiernan took a comedy course at age 21. [1]
He won the Frog and Bucket Comedy Club's "Beat the Frog" new stand-up competition in 2020. [7] In 2021, he was a finalist in the Leicester Mercury Comedian of the Year at the Leicester Comedy Festival. [8] In September 2023, he portrayed Logan Padmore in an episode of the BBC soap opera Doctors . [9] In April 2024, he was a guest on the Underground and Underwater episode of QI , and in July 2024, he was a guest on 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown .
In 2023, Tiernan performed his debut hour at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, "Going Under", to positive reviews. [10]
Tiernan attended Hulme Hall school, and later on the University of Salford. [11]
