Dance Premier League is an Indian dance reality show that premiered on Sony TV on 9 October 2009. The series is judged by the known Bollywood film actress Rani Mukerji, and famous Indian choreographer Shiamak Davar who guides all six teams as an 'umpire'. [1] The series replaced Sony TV's long running dance show Boogie Woogie. [2]

In cricket, an umpire is a person who has the authority to make decisions about events on the cricket field according to the Laws of Cricket. Besides making decisions about legality of delivery, appeals for wickets and general conduct of the Game in a legal manner, the umpire also keeps a record of the deliveries and announces the completion of an over.

Shiamak Davar is an Indian choreographer, noted as one of the first to bring contemporary jazz and western forms of dance to India. He is known as the guru of contemporary dance in India. He is responsible for modernizing India's dance scene especially in the film and theatre industries. He is respected for his ever-evolving and very popular "Shiamak Style" of dance. He was the director of choreography for the Commonwealth Games, Melbourne and Commonwealth Games, Delhi. In 2011 he choreographed the dance sequences for the movie Mission Impossible 4.
Imran Parvez is a Bangladeshi former first-class cricketer active 2000–2004, who is also known by his nickname 'Ripon'. After retiring from cricket he became an umpire and officates matches domestic cricket.
Boogie Woogie is an Indian dance competition television series created and directed by Naved Jaffrey, Ashu Jain and Ravi Behl for Sony Entertainment Television and Sony Entertainment Television Asia. Debuting in 1996, the show was judged by Indian film actor and Television host Javed Jaffrey who was the permanent judge, while his brother Naved, also the director and producer of the show, co-hosted the show along with film actor Ravi Behl. The early episodes were shot in Mehta Industrial Estate in Andheri, Mumbai and later, was also shot at other film studios in Mumbai including Natraj, Filmalaya, Filmistaan, Famous, Film City among others. It is the oldest dance reality show on Indian TV, and it has become the longest show in India. In the earlier seasons, the judges assigned various themes to episodes, including Bollywood, Horror, Friendship among others. It was also co-hosted by Kadambari Shantshri Desai in season 1 and 2.
Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa is an Indian Hindi-language reality television show and the Indian version of BBC's Strictly Come Dancing and Dancing with the Stars. The first four seasons of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa were aired on Sony TV. Season fifth to tenth were aired Colors TV then again from season 11, the broadcasting network was changed back to Sony Entertainment Television.
Dil Bole Hadippa! is a 2009 Indian Hindi-language sports comedy film directed by Anurag Singh and produced by Aditya Chopra under the Yash Raj Films banner. It stars Rani Mukerji and Shahid Kapoor in the story about a young woman who pretends to be a man to join an all-male cricket team. It also has Anupam Kher, Dalip Tahil, Rakhi Sawant and Sherlyn Chopra in supporting roles.

The 2020 Lanka Premier League Final was a Twenty20 cricket match played on 16 December 2020 at the Mahinda Rajapaksa International Cricket Stadium, Hambantota, Sri Lanka between Galle Gladiators and Jaffna Stallions to ascertain the winner of 2020 Lanka Premier League. Jaffna Stallions won the match against Galle Gladiators by 53 runs to be the Champions of inaugural LPL.

The 2022 Kashmir Premier League Final was a 20-over cricket match scheduled to be played on 26 August 2022, at Muzaffarabad Cricket Stadium, Muzaffarabad between the Mirpur Royals and Bagh Stallions to determine the winner of the 2022 edition of the Kashmir Premier League. The match was abandoned due to rain and Mirpur were awarded the title due to their better position in the points table.
