Belle and Sebastian are a Scottish indie pop band formed in Glasgow in 1996. Led by Stuart Murdoch, the band has released twelve studio albums. They are often compared with acts such as the Smiths and Nick Drake. The name "Belle and Sebastian" comes from Belle et Sébastien, a 1965 children's book by French writer Cécile Aubry later adapted for television. Though consistently lauded by critics, Belle & Sebastian's "wistful pop" has enjoyed only limited commercial success.
My Life with the Thrill Kill Kult is an American electronic industrial rock band originally based in Chicago and founded by Groovie Mann and Buzz McCoy. They became known in the 1980s as pioneers of the industrial music genre – although by the early 1990s they had changed to a more disco-oriented sound – and as a frequent target of censorship groups, including the PMRC, which objected to the band's humorous and satirical references to Satan, Jesus and sex in their song lyrics and stage shows.

David Aaron Shayman, better known by his stage name Disco D, was an American record producer and composer. He started as a teenage DJ in Ann Arbor, Michigan, where he helped DJ Godfather popularize the Detroit electronic music called "Ghettotech". Disco D produced the track "Ski Mask Way" on American hip-hop artist 50 Cent's The Massacre album. He died by suicide in Washington, D.C. on January 23, 2007.

The Last Dance is the fourth EP and seventh overall release by English post-rock and experimental rock band Disco Inferno. The EP was the band's third release to develop their innovative production and sample-based approach. After initially recording sessions for the EP with their original producer Charlie McIntosh, the band's label Rough Trade Records were unsatisfied with the sessions and instead the band worked with a new producer, Michael Johnson, famous for his work with New Order. His production ethic included a period of pre-production, the first time the band had used this process.

s/he is the eponymous album by the musical duo s/he, released in September 2011. The duo consists of Michelle Chamuel and Tyler Duncan, former members of the Ann Arbor, Michigan-based band Ella Riot. The album was released shortly after the band's hiatus announcement. The album credits contributions by all then-current band members and as such is the last collaborative venture of the group. An album review categorized the music as electronic-pop/rock, differentiated it from traditional synthpop, and complimented the vocal performance and incorporation of guitars and drums.
Love Child is the second studio release by Ann Arbor, Michigan-based band Ella Riot, formerly My Dear Disco. Being a studio recording and final release, Love Child is the band's second definitive work. It was engineered and recorded at Mission Sound studio. The band released a music video of the album's fourth track "It Could Be". The song's theme is "liberation" and according to band founder Tyler Duncan the video's concept is: "an unlikely person having the ideal response to our music." An album review by Mark Deming of AllMusic characterized the music as pop, influenced by funk, techno and house, and called the band's approach original. The last track "Clubbin" has bagpipes as the lead instrument, with Deming calling the fusion of bagpipes and guitars "a welcome bit of inspired lunacy".
The Remixes is an EP by the band Ella Riot, formerly My Dear Disco. The band was active from 2007 to 2011. Though a live performing band, electronic music production was part of their forte since their inception. The band did most of their own production work, recording and mixing, and two of its members had studied electronic music in college. The Remixes EP is a collection of their remix work from 2009–2010. The first track was made for a Scion A/V remix collection of Todd Edwards' "I Might Be". The second track was highly praised for its use of live instruments by Arjanwrites music blog.
