Danica McPhee (born December 9, 1989) is an athlete participating in women's ice sledge hockey. [1] A member of the Canada women's national ice sledge hockey team since 2014, she competed in the first-ever IPC Ice Sledge Hockey Women's International Cup in 2014.
Having damaged her L1 vertebrae after an accident in Cancun, Mexico on February 19, 2013, [2] part of McPhee’s recovery included participation in sport. Although she currently resides in Mississauga, Ontario, McPhee returned to her hometown of Sudbury, Ontario to participate in an exhibition game with the Mississauga Red Dogs. [3]
Competing at the IPC Ice Sledge Hockey Women's International Cup from November 7–9, 2014 in Brampton, Ontario, Canada, [4] she scored her first international goal in Canada’s second game of the event, a 6-1 victory against Team Europe. Said goal was assisted by Tuyet Morris Yurczyszyn and Corin Metzger.

Tessa Bonhomme is a Canadian former professional ice hockey player and is a television sports reporter for The Sports Network (TSN). She was an Olympic gold medallist as a member of the Canadian national women's hockey team and played for the Toronto Furies in the Canadian Women's Hockey League. She was also co-captain of the Ohio State Buckeyes women's ice hockey team in the NCAA.
The first instances of organized women's ice hockey in Canada date back to the 1890s when it was played at the university level. The Women's Hockey Association claims that the city of Ottawa, Ontario hosted the first game in 1891. In 1920, Lady Meredith, wife of Sir Vincent Meredith of Montreal donated the Lady Meredith Cup to the Quebec Ladies' Hockey Association, said to be the first women's ice hockey trophy created for a competition in Canada. In February 1921, a women's North American championship series was played in conjunction with the Pacific Coast Hockey Association. The Vancouver Amazons from the 1920s became one of the first professional teams. They were the first women's hockey team from Vancouver to participate in the invitational women's hockey tournament sponsored by the Banff Winter Carnival. On December 16, 1922, a meeting was held to announce the formation of the Ladies Ontario Hockey Association. The Dominion Women's Amateur Hockey Association was founded in winter 1933. Lady Bessborough, the wife of Governor General of Canada Lord Bessborough donated a championship trophy.
Christine Gauthier is a Canadian paracanoeist who has competed since the late 2000s. She won a gold medal in the K-1 200 m LTA event at the 2010 ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships in Poznań. Gauthier also participated in women's ice sledge hockey. A member of the Canada women's national ice sledge hockey team since 2012, she competed in the first-ever IPC Ice Sledge Hockey Women's International Cup in 2014.
Catherine White is a Canadian ice hockey player. White has competed for Hockey Canada in numerous international tournaments. Currently, she is a member of the Cornell Big Red. Of note, she scored the first goal in the history of the Canadian National Women's Under 18 program.
Gregory Westlake is a Canadian ice sledge hockey player.
Sommer West was a Canadian Olympic softball player at the 2000 Summer Olympics. In addition, she was a former member of the Canadian national women's hockey team. She was also an ice hockey player in the Canadian Women's Hockey League (CWHL). West has competed for the Mississauga Chiefs and Burlington Barracudas in the CWHL. Currently, she is the head coach of the Toronto Furies of the Canadian Women's Hockey League. As head coach of the Toronto Furies, she led the squad to the 2014 Clarkson Cup championship.
Mallory Deluce is a Canadian ice hockey forward for the Wisconsin Badgers women's ice hockey program. She was drafted 11th overall by Toronto CWHL in the 2011 CWHL Draft. She was named to the Canadian National Women's Hockey team roster that competed in the 2011 IIHF Eight Nations Tournament. In 2015, she was named the recipient of the Isobel Gathorne-Hardy Award.
Jillian Pauline Saulnier is a Canadian ice hockey player for Les Canadiennes de Montréal and was part of Canada's National Women's Under-18 Team that won gold at the 2010 IIHF World Women's Under-18 Championship in Chicago. As a member of the gold medal winning squad, a hockey card of her was featured in the Upper Deck 2010 World of Sports card series. In addition, she participated in the Canada Celebrates Event on June 30 in Edmonton, Alberta which recognized the Canadian Olympic and World hockey champions from the 2009–10 season. She made her debut with the Canada women's national ice hockey team at the 2014 4 Nations Cup. Saulnier outed herself as lesbian.
Kelsey DiClaudio is an athlete that participates in women's ice sledge hockey. A member of the United States women's national ice sledge hockey team, she competed in the first-ever IPC Ice Sledge Hockey Women's International Cup in 2014. Prior to competing with the national women's team, DiClaudio competed with men on the Pittsburgh Mighty Penguins.
