Daniel Tai (born 1 June 1977) is a New Zealand professional boxer. He is a two time New Zealand National Boxing Federation (NZNBF) heavyweight title holder, and former ranked 12th in the World Boxing Organization (WBO) Asia Pacific rankings. [1]
Tai currently holds the NZNBF heavyweight title belt.
Tai has challenged for the WBO Asia Pacific title twice in his career, both times against American-New Zealander Chauncy Welliver. [2] [3] Tai has fought a few notable boxers in his career, including Welliver three times, Sam Leuii twice, Danny Green, Sean Sullivan, Jameson Bostic and Bob Gasio.

Faumuina To'aletai Mafaufau David Tua, best known as David Tua, is a Samoan-New Zealand former professional boxer who competed from 1992 to 2013. A highly ranked heavyweight contender for most of his career, Tua was known for his formidable punching power, especially in his devastating left hook. He scored sixteen wins by knockout in the first round, which included knockouts of world heavyweight champions John Ruiz and Michael Moorer within thirty seconds of the first round, as well as late stoppages of world champions Oleg Maskaev and Hasim Rahman. He was ranked by BoxRec in the world's top 10 heavyweights from 1996 to 2003, reaching his highest ranking of No.3 in 1998. Tua ended his career with a knockout-to-win ratio of 82.6%. In a 2003 article by The Ring magazine, Tua was ranked 48th on a list of 100 greatest punchers of all time.
The Trusts Arena is an indoor arena located in Henderson, Auckland, New Zealand. It is a multi-purpose stadium that primarily holds sports events and music concerts. The Arena was opened by then Prime Minister of New Zealand Helen Clark on 11 September 2004. It holds 4,901 people. Chauncy Welliver is an American-New Zealand heavyweight boxer from Spokane, Washington who lived in Auckland, New Zealand. He has a career record of 57–13–5. Throughout his career he has never been knocked down and at one point the WBC ranked him the 5th best heavyweight in the world.

David Tua vs Shane Cameron, billed as Fight of the Century was a boxing match between David Tua and Shane Cameron. This is considered the biggest boxing event in New Zealand history with a million dollar purse. It took place on 3 October 2009 at Mystery Creek Events Centre in Hamilton, New Zealand. Tua won the fight by knockout 20 seconds into the second round. The event was promoted by David Higgins and John McRae of Duco Events.

Bowyn Morgan is a New Zealand professional boxer. As an amateur he competed in the men's welterweight division at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow where he would reach the quarter-finals before losing to Scott Fitzgerald, who went on to claim the gold medal.
Jerome Mandela Joseph-Pampellone is an English born, New Zealand raised professional boxer. He participated in the 2019 AIBA World Boxing Championships as an amateur and won three New Zealand national elite championships between 2018 and 2020. Pampellone narrowly missed qualifying for the 2020 Summer Olympics after failing to place at the Olympic Qualification Tournament for 2020 in Asia and Oceania.
