Daniel Wu (born November 2, 2000) is an American soccer player who plays for Lexington SC in the USL Championship.
Wu played eight seasons with the North Carolina FC academy as part of the USSDA, where he also captained the team for two years. [1] [2] [3]
In 2019, Wu attended Georgetown University to play college soccer. Wu missed the 2020 season due to injury, but made 59 appearances for the Hoyas during his time at Georgetown, scoring three goals and adding two assists. In 2021, Wu was named Second Team All-BIG EAST selection. In his senior year in 2022, Wu was named First Team All-East Region, as well as Big East Defensive Player of the Year and was a First Team All-Big East member. [4]
While at college, Wu spent time in 2019 and 2021 with the North Carolina FC U23 side who competed in the USL League Two but didn't appear for the side. [5] [6] In 2022 he made a single appearance for USL League Two's Christos FC. [7]
On August 19, 2022, Wu signed his first professional contract with USL League One side Greenville Triumph. [8] He scored his first professional goal on April 29, 2023, netting an injury-time consolation goal against North Carolina FC. [9]
In January 2025, it was announced that Wu had transferred to Lexington SC ahead of the club's first season competing in the USL Championship. [10]
