Danielle Colby (born December 3, 1975) is an American reality television personality [1] who appears on the History reality television show American Pickers . [2]
Danielle Colby was born in Davenport, Iowa which is on the Mississippi River and grew up as a Jehovah's Witness. [2] By 2004, she married and had two children. [2] Her television career eventually led to the breakup of her first marriage. In May 2012, she told WQAD-TV that "fame and notoriety are not easy for him to deal with at all, so the relationship ended up not working out." [3]
Colby owned and played on a female roller derby team, the Big Mouth Mickies, for three years until injuries forced her to give it up. [4]
While living with her family in Chicago, she attended a burlesque performance starring comedian Margaret Cho and dancer Satan's Angel prompting her to become a burlesque dancer. After she moved back with her family to the Quad Cities area of Iowa, [2] she created the professional burlesque troupe Burlesque Le Moustache, with nine performers, including Colby herself with the stage name Dannie Diesel. [5] They toured eastern Iowa and western Illinois. [6] As of October 2014, Colby owned a burlesque academy called Dannie Diesel's Bump 'n' Grind Academy in the Rogers Park neighborhood of Chicago which is by Evanston. [7]
Colby was a close friend of American Pickers ' Mike Wolfe for a decade before the concept of the show had even been developed. [4] Once the show was sold to the History Channel, Wolfe asked Colby to work at the office of the antique shop Antique Archaeology. [8]
American Pickers premiered on the History Channel on January 18, 2010. [9] It was the top rated non-fiction series of 2010 among total viewers and adults 25–54. [10]
Colby owned and operated[ citation needed ] 4 Miles 2 Memphis, a retro clothing based company. [11] [12] A brick and mortar location for the business opened on January 8, 2013 in the Wicker Park area of Chicago east of Oak Park; however, it closed within a year. [13]

Sally Rand was an American burlesque dancer, vedette, and actress, famous for her ostrich-feather fan dance and balloon bubble dance. She also performed under the name Billie Beck. Rand got her start as a chorus girl before working as an acrobat and traveling theater performer. Her career spanned more than forty years, appearing on stage, screen and in television. Through her career she worked alongside Humphrey Bogart, Karl Malden, and Cecil B. De Mille. She was a trained pilot and briefly dated Charles Lindbergh.

Double Door, a concert hall and nightclub, was located in the Wicker Park neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois, United States. The venue was first opened on June 12, 1994, and was co-owned by Andrew Barrett, Sean Mulroney and Joe Shanahan. On June 12, 1994, under its current ownership, the Double Door hosted its first show, Lloyd Cole; the same week, the Smashing Pumpkins played under the name the Starchildren. The venue at 1572 N. Milwaukee Avenue had a capacity of 473 people. It was two levels with a stage, sound system, dance floor and bar on the main floor; the second was a mezzanine level, the most intimate area of the club with its lounge type setting. A second bar and dance floor, Door No. 3, was located downstairs in the basement.

Burlesque is a 2010 American backstage musical film written and directed by Steven Antin. It stars Cher, Christina Aguilera, Kristen Bell, Cam Gigandet, Stanley Tucci, Julianne Hough, Alan Cumming, and Peter Gallagher, and features cameos from Dianna Agron, and James Brolin. The film tells the story of Ali (Aguilera), an aspiring singer who leaves her small hometown for Los Angeles, where she becomes a dancer at a struggling burlesque lounge owned by Tess (Cher). After a performance is sabotaged by her rival, Nikki (Bell), Ali sings the song herself, impressing Tess and leading to her becoming the main attraction of the lounge. Burlesque marks Aguilera's first leading role, as well as Cher's first musical performance on screen.

WBQD-LP was a low-power television station licensed to Davenport, Iowa, United States, which operated from 2002 to 2011. Last owned by Four Seasons Broadcasting, it was affiliated with UPN and MyNetworkTV. The station was operated under a local marketing agreement (LMA), and a technical services agreement by The New York Times Company, and later by Local TV LLC, as a sister station to Moline, Illinois–licensed ABC affiliate WQAD-TV. WBQD-LP's operations were housed at WQAD-TV's studios on Park 16th Street in the Prospect Park section of Moline; its transmitter was located on 70th Street, next to Black Hawk College, near Moline's Poplar Grove neighborhood.
