The Belarusian men's national ice hockey team is the national ice hockey team that represented Belarus. The team is controlled by the Belarusian Ice Hockey Association. Belarus was ranked 14th in the world by the IIHF as of the 2021 World Ranking.

The Belarusian Extraleague, abbreviated BHL, also known as the BETERA Extraleague for sponsorship reasons, or known as the Belarusian Open Championship,, officially formed in 2006, is the top ice hockey league in Belarus. In its past, it has switched several times between being and not being an open league, but for the 2008–2009 season, the Belarus Ice Hockey Federation decided to open the Belarusian Extraleague, the Belarusian Premier League and the Belarusian junior leagues.
The 2014 IIHF World Championship was hosted by Belarus in its capital, Minsk, held from 9 to 25 May 2014. Sixteen national teams were competing in two venues, the Minsk-Arena and Chizhovka-Arena. It was the first time Belarus hosted the tournament. The selection of Belarus to host this competition was the subject of much debate, with some politicians in the European Union and North America calling for the IIHF to move the tournament to another country.
The Belarusian men's national under-20 ice hockey team is the national under-20 ice hockey team in Belarus. The team represented Belarus at the International Ice Hockey Federation's World Junior Hockey Championship. Prior to independence in 1991, Belarusian players played for the Soviet Union, which played in the World Juniors from its inception in 1974. Belarus has played in the top division eight times, first in 1999 and most recently in 2018, with their best finish being ninth overall in both 2001 and 2002.
Alexander Viktorovich Kulakov is a Belarusian professional ice hockey forward. He is currently playing for Yunost Minsk of the Belarusian Extraleague (BXL). He previously joined Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod after a lengthy first tenure with HC Dinamo Minsk. He has also competed in the Eastern European Hockey League and the Belarusian Extraliga.

HC Kremenchuk is an ice hockey team based in Kremenchuk, Ukraine, playing in the Ukrainian Hockey Extra League that was formed prior to the 2016–17 season. The club was founded in 2010 and initially competed in Ukrainian amateur championships before joining the Belarusian Vysshaya Liga for 2013–14 season. After finishing the regular 2013–14 season Kremenchuk was forced to withdraw from the league prior to the playoffs due to the political situation in Ukraine. The team then joined the Ukrainian Championship for the 2014–15 season, winning the regular season and finishing as runners-up in the playoffs. Kremenchuk has also qualified for the IIHF Continental Cup on one occasion.

Lidia Alexandrovna Malyavko or Lidziya Aliaxandravna Maliavka is a Belarusian-Russian ice hockey player, currently playing in the Zhenskaya Hockey League (ZhHL) with Tornado Dmitrov. She represented Russia at the 2017 IIHF Women's World Championship and won a silver medal with the national team in the women's ice hockey tournament at the 2017 Winter Universiade.
Yegor Alexandrovich Sharangovich is a Belarusian professional ice hockey forward for the Calgary Flames of the National Hockey League (NHL). He was drafted by the New Jersey Devils, 141st overall, in the 2018 NHL Entry Draft, and made his NHL debut in 2020. Prior to joining the Devils Sharangovich played two seasons with Dinamo Minsk of the Kontinental Hockey League, as well as two seasons in the American Hockey League. Internationally Sharangovich has played for the Belarusian national team at both the junior and senior level, including four World Championships.

The 2021 IIHF World Championship took place from 21 May to 6 June 2021. It was originally to be co-hosted by Minsk, Belarus and Riga, Latvia, as the IIHF announced on 19 May 2017 in Cologne, Germany. Their joint bid won by a very tight margin against the Finnish bid with the cities of Tampere and Helsinki. On 18 January 2021 the IIHF decided to remove Belarus as a co-host due to the rising political unrest and COVID-19 concerns there. On 2 February, the IIHF voted to confirm Latvia as the sole host for the 2021 IIHF World Championship.
