Anthem Records is an independent record label based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The company was formed in May 1977 by Ray Danniels and Vic Wilson with initial recording artists Rush, Max Webster, Liverpool and A Foot in Coldwater. The three members of Rush, Geddy Lee, Neil Peart and Alex Lifeson became associate directors of Anthem.

The East Africa Premier League (EAPL) was a Twenty20 cricket competition covering Kenya and Uganda. The EAPL was founded in 2011, together with the East Africa Cup, in the wake of the Kenya national cricket team's disastrous performance in the 2011 Cricket World Cup. It comprised four Kenyan provincial franchises as well as two teams from Uganda that play each over in a league, culminating in a final between the team that finished top of the league and the winner of a series of playoff matches. Its main objective was to improve the standard of cricket played in Kenya, and spark a revival on the international stage once again.

2017 ICC World Cricket League Division Three was a cricket tournament that took place in Uganda between 23 and 30 May 2017. The matches took place in Lugogo, Kyambogo and Entebbe. The top two teams, Oman and Canada, were promoted to Division Two. The final ended as a no result due to rain, and therefore Oman won the tournament by virtue of finishing top of the group stage table.
Danniel Thomas-Dodd is a Jamaican athlete whose specialty is the shot put. She finished 4th in the shot put finals at London's 2017 World Championships in Athletics and the following year she won silver at the Indoor World Championships. In addition, she finished fifth at the 2015 Pan American Games.

All of the matches had List A status. The tournament took place in June 2022 in Uganda.
The Uganda cricket team toured Qatar in February 2020 to play a three-match Twenty20 International (T20I) series. The tour also included two 50-over games against a President's XI. The venue for all of the matches was the West End Park International Cricket Stadium in Doha. The series was won 2–1 by Qatar, and Qatari batsman Kamran Khan was named as player of the series.
The 2021–22 Uganda Tri-Nation Series, also known as the Pearl of Africa T20I Series, was a Twenty20 International (T20I) cricket tournament that was held in Uganda in September 2021. The participating teams were the hosts Uganda, along with Kenya and Nigeria. The tournament was originally planned to consist of 13 T20I matches, with the sides facing each other four times in a round-robin stage, followed by a final between the top two teams. The round-robin was later reduced by three matches with each team facing each other three times. The tournament provided preparation for all sides ahead of T20 World Cup Africa Qualifier events took place in October and November 2021.
