Daniel Roland Lanois is a Canadian record producer and musician.
Martha and the Muffins are a Canadian rock band, active from 1977 to the present. Although they only had one major international hit single "Echo Beach" under their original band name, they had a number of hits in their native Canada, and the core members of the band also charted in Canada and internationally as M + M.
Jocelyne Chantal Lanois is a Canadian musician, bass player and songwriter from Hull, Quebec, who has been a member of the bands Martha and the Muffins and Crash Vegas. She has also had touring stints as bassplayer with Ani DiFranco and Chris Whitley, and played on Sarah McLachlan's album Solace. She is the sister of record producer Daniel Lanois, and was partner at his experimental Lab Studio with producer, musician Malcolm Burn, collaborating on his solo release, Redemption.
Metro Music is the debut album by Canadian new wave band Martha and the Muffins. It was released in 1980 on Dindisc, the first album release for the label, and contains the international hit single "Echo Beach".

Shaking the Tree: Sixteen Golden Greats is a compilation album by the English rock musician Peter Gabriel. It was released in 1990 as Gabriel's first career retrospective, including songs from his first solo album Peter Gabriel (1977), through Passion: Music for The Last Temptation of Christ (1989). It was remastered with most of Gabriel's catalogue in 2002. The vinyl version of the album is called Shaking the Tree: Twelve Golden Greats.
Trance and Dance was Martha and the Muffins' 1980 second album, and like the previous Metro Music was produced by Mike Howlett. The album included "Motorbikin’", the band's cover of Chris Spedding's 1976 UK hit.

The opening tracks, "Black Stations/White Stations" and "Cooling The Medium" were both released as singles, with the first track being the more successful of the two, achieving hit status in Canada and reaching #2 on the U.S. dance music chart.

Red Earth is the debut album by Canadian indie band Crash Vegas. It was released by Risque Disque, a label formed by Blue Rodeo. Greg Keelor, one of Blue Rodeo's musicians, collaborated with Michelle McAdorey and co-wrote some of the music for the album, and also provided guitar performances for the recorded version of the songs "Red Earth" and "The One That Keeps Me Running". The band toured in support of the album in 1990, and again from late 1991 to mid-1992. The second tour included opening act Junkhouse, which became increasingly popular as a result of this exposure.

N'Dea Davenport is the debut studio album by American singer and songwriter N'Dea Davenport, released on June 30, 1998, by V2 Records. The album peaked at number 56 on the Billboard R&B Albums chart and number 14 on the Heatseekers Albums chart. The lead single "Bring It On" charted number 75 on the Billboard Hot R&B Songs chart. Following the album's release, Davenport released three more singles: "Bullshittin'", "Underneath a Red Moon", "Whatever You Want". In addition to promoting the album, Davenport performed at the Lilith Fair in 1998.
