The Associates were a Scottish post-punk and pop band, formed in Dundee in 1979 by lead vocalist Billy Mackenzie and guitarist Alan Rankine. The band released an unauthorized cover version of David Bowie's "Boys Keep Swinging" as their debut single in 1979, which landed them a recording contract with Fiction Records. They followed with their debut studio album The Affectionate Punch in 1980 and the compilation album Fourth Drawer Down in 1981, both to critical praise.
Martha and the Muffins are a Canadian rock band, active from 1977 to the present. Although they only had one major international hit single "Echo Beach" under their original band name, they had a number of hits in their native Canada, and the core members of the band also charted in Canada and internationally as M + M.

"I Wanna Be Sedated" is a song by American punk rock band Ramones, originally released on the band's fourth studio album, Road to Ruin (1978), in September 1978. The B-side of the UK single "She's the One" was released on September 21, 1978. The song was later released as a single in the Netherlands in 1979, and in the U.S. in 1980 by RSO Records from the Times Square soundtrack album. It has since remained one of the band's best known songs.
Trance and Dance was Martha and the Muffins' 1980 second album, and like the previous Metro Music was produced by Mike Howlett. The album included "Motorbikin’", the band's cover of Chris Spedding's 1976 UK hit.
Mystery Walk is a 1984 album by M + M, produced by Daniel Lanois. The opening tracks, "Black Stations/White Stations" and "Cooling The Medium" were both released as singles, with the first track being the more successful of the two, achieving hit status in Canada and reaching #2 on the U.S. dance music chart.
The World is a Ball is a 1986 album by M + M. The album was recorded in Canada and in Bath, England.
Then Again: A Retrospective is a 1998 compilation album by Martha and the Muffins. Although credited to the band's original name, it includes songs from both the full name and M + M phases of the band's career.
Strictly Commercial is a compilation album by Frank Zappa. It was released in 1995, two years after his death. The album was named as part of a 2011 lawsuit by Gail Zappa towards Rykodisc, claiming the label released several vault masters without the permission of the Zappa Family Trust on this and other releases, specifically the single edits of some songs, such as the 12" disco Remix of "Dancin' Fool". The disc is currently out of print and has been replaced in Zappa's catalog by the 2016 compilation album ZAPPAtite.
"Echo Beach" is a song by Canadian musical group Martha and the Muffins. Written by band member Mark Gane, it was released as a single from their album Metro Music in 1980 and went on to reach number five in Canada, number six in Australia, and number 10 in the UK. It was certified gold in Canada on October 1, 1980, a month after Metro Music achieved gold status, and also won the Juno Award for Single of the Year. "Echo Beach" was the band's only significant international hit, although they had other popular singles in Canada.

1992 – The Love Album is an album by English band Carter the Unstoppable Sex Machine. Released on Chrysalis Records, following the demise of Rough Trade Records, the album achieved commercial success and became the band's first and only Number 1 album on the UK Albums Chart. It also contained their only Top 10 hit, "The Only Living Boy in New Cross", which reached No. 7 on the UK Singles Chart. The album also included two further singles, "Do Re Me So Far So Good" and "The Impossible Dream". An earlier single, "After the Watershed" was originally planned to be included on the album, but due to an injunction from the publishers of The Rolling Stones over a line in the lyrics quoted from their single "Ruby Tuesday"), the band had to credit the composition to Morrison / Carter / Richards / Jagger. It was omitted from the album as they would otherwise have had to forgo publishing royalties for every copy of the album sold.
"Muffin Man" is a song recorded live by Frank Zappa and the Mothers of Invention. It appears on his 1975 mostly live album Bongo Fury made with Captain Beefheart.
Dindisc was a UK record label, an imprint of Virgin Records but operating semi-independently, which issued new releases from mid-1979 through early 1982. It is no longer active, but CD reissues on Virgin still mention the label and have Dindisc catalogue numbers.

Now That's What I Call Music – The Summer Album is a compilation album released on 6 July 1986 as a part of the (UK) Now! series. It takes the form as a special album in the series. It is notable for containing the songs "All You Need Is Love" and "Here Comes the Sun" by The Beatles. The Beatles and Apple Records don't often allow their songs to appear on various artists compilation albums. It was released on cassette and vinyl.
Wormrot is a Singaporean grindcore band that formed in 2007, immediately after the founding members had completed their mandatory two years of national service. The band have released four studio albums to date, as well as a number of EPs and split releases with other bands. Since 2010, the band has been signed to Earache Records. They have been described as one of the top 10 grindcore bands by OC Weekly, and have toured Europe and the United States. In 2017, they became the first Singaporean act to play at the Glastonbury Festival.
National Treasures – The Complete Singles is a compilation album by the Welsh alternative rock band Manic Street Preachers, released on 31 October 2011. It is the band's third compilation album, after Forever Delayed: Manic Street Preachers, The Greatest Hits (2002), and the B-sides/rarities collection Lipstick Traces (2003). The compilation features one new recording, a cover of The The's "This Is the Day", which was issued as a single on 18 September 2011. The compilation reached number 10 on the UK Album Chart in November 2011.
