Dansha Dayan Chandradas also known as Dansha Chandradas (born 21 January 1993) is a Sri Lankan rugby union and rugby sevens player who currently plays as a fullback. [1] [2]
He played a pivotal and integral role for Kandy SC club for nearly 10 years from 2012 to 2022. He joined Kandy SC as a schoolboy in 2012.
He was named in Sri Lankan men's rugby sevens squads for both the 2018 Commonwealth Games and 2018 Asian Games. [3] [4] [5] Sri Lanka would eventually finish at fourth position in men's rugby sevens tournament during the 2018 Asian Games thereby narrowly missing out on a bronze medal after going down 36–14 to South Korea in bronze medal 3rd place match while Sri Lanka finished at fifteenth position in men's rugby sevens tournament at the 2018 Commonwealth Games. He was appointed as the captain of the Sri Lankan rugby sevens team for the 2019 Asia Rugby Sevens Series. [7] [8] The COVID-19 pandemic took an enormous heavy toll in his professional career especially he missed out the opportunity of representing Sri Lanka at the 2021 Asian Rugby Sevens Championship in UAE due to the fact that Kandy SC had failed to participate in selection trials at that time. [9] He also went onto start on a welding business alongside his father. He faced discrimination and ill-treatment during his stint with Kandy SC and he parted ways with the club in 2022 after a decade. [10]
He was included in 110 member Sri Lankan contingent for the 2022 Commonwealth Games. [11] [12] [13] [14]
Lote Raikabula is a New Zealand rugby player who has played both rugby union and rugby sevens. He currently plays for the All Blacks Sevens team in the IRB Sevens World Series & is the Rugby coach for Trinity College, Kandy. He has played more than 60 tournaments since his debut in 2006, playing in 20 tournament-winning teams. he has five IRB Sevens World Series medals, a Rugby World Cup Sevens title and two Commonwealth Games gold medals.
The Sri Lanka national rugby sevens team, known as the Tuskers, represents Sri Lanka in men's international rugby sevens. They have competed in the Hong Kong Sevens since the 1980s. The annual home and away competition, featuring eight Division 'A' teams, has been held since 1950. The competition has been held between November and February for the last three seasons. The first round of the tournament runs for seven weekends with the final match of the first round in early January, no games are played over the Christmas holiday period. The second round also runs for seven weekends, with the final match in the beginning of March.

Rugby sevens at the 2018 Commonwealth Games was held on the Gold Coast, Australia from April 13 to 15. The rugby sevens competition was held at Robina Stadium. This is the sixth time that the men's competition was held, following rugby sevens's debut at the 1998 Games, with women's rugby sevens making its debut after the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. She was named as one of the members of the Sri Lankan contingent at the 2018 Commonwealth Games and claimed a bronze medal in the women's 48kg event on the opening day of the competition on 5 April 2018, which was also the second medal earned by Sri Lanka at the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games and was also the second medal secured by the Sri Lankan contingent in weightlifting category. Gomes also won Sri Lanka's first ever weightlifting medal by a woman at the Commonwealth Games.
Indika Chathuranga D. Dissanayake Mudiyanselage, also known as Indika Dissanayake, is a Sri Lankan male weightlifter. He competed in the 69 kg division at the Asian Games, South Asian Games and at the Commonwealth Games, and won silver medals at the 2016 South Asian Games and 2018 Commonwealth Games.

Anna-Marie Suzanne Quint Ondaatje also simply known as Anna-Marie Ondaatje is a Canadian born female rhythmic gymnast of Sri Lankan descent. She has competed in national level competitions in Canada and has represented both Canada and then switched to compete for Sri Lanka in international gymnastics events. She became the first rhythmic gymnast to represent Sri Lanka at the Commonwealth Games after creating history for the nation at the 2018 Commonwealth Games and was also named as one of just four female gymnasts from Sri Lanka to represent at the 2018 Commonwealth Games.
Dimuth Akalanka Peiris also known as Dimuth Peiris is a Sri Lankan male swimmer and a national record holder in swimming.
