Daphne Theresa Chia (born 26 September 1996) is a former Singaporean rhythmic gymnast. She represented Singapore at international competitions from 2013 to 2015.

Early life and education

Chia was born on 26 September 1996 in Indianapolis, USA. [2] She attended Raffles Girls' School, [3] and then Raffles Institution in Singapore. [4] As of 2020, Chia is a medical student at University of Cambridge. [5] [6]

She renounced her US citizenship in 2018. [7]

Career

Chia started training as a rhythmic gymnast at the age of nine. [4] In 2009, Chia represented her secondary school in the national Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships. [3] She started representing Singapore in international competitions since 2010, starting with the ASEAN School Games 2010 in which her rhythmic gymnast team was placed second. [4] In 2013, Chia represented Singapore in Asian Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships and World Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships. [4] [8] In 2014, Chia represented Singapore in 2014 Commonwealth Games – women's rhythmic team all-around gymnastics and was placed eighth. [2] In 2015, Chia represented Singapore in 2015 Southeast Asian Games – women's rhythmic individual all-around gymnastics event and was placed sixth. [9] [6] She had retired from the sport thereafter and chose to further her studies at University of Cambridge. [5] [6]

Claudia Fragapane is a British artistic gymnast. She came to prominence at the 2014 Commonwealth Games, where she was the first English woman to win four gold medals in a single Games since 1930. In 2015, Fragapane was part of the women's gymnastics team that won Great Britain's first-ever team medal, a bronze, at the World Artistic Gymnastics Championships. She competed at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.

Laura Yihan Zeng is an American former individual rhythmic gymnast. She represented the United States at the 2016 and 2020 Summer Olympics. She swept all of the events at the 2015 Pan American Games and at the 2018 Pan American Championships. She is the 2014 Youth Olympic and 2019 Summer Universiade all-around bronze medalist and the 2019 Grand Prix Final hoop bronze medalist. She is an eight-time national all-around champion, six times at the senior level and twice at the junior level (2013-14).

Linoy Ashram Israeli rhythmic gymnast

Linoy Ashram is a retired Israeli individual rhythmic gymnast. She is the 2020 Olympic All-around Champion, the 2018 World All-around silver medalist, two-time World All-around bronze medalist, the 2020 European All-around champion, and the 2019 European Games All-around silver medalist. She is the third Israeli athlete and first Israeli woman to win an Olympic gold medal in any sport, and the first Israeli rhythmic gymnast to win an Olympic medal. She became the first rhythmic gymnast from outside a post-Soviet republic to win a gold medal at an Olympics where former Soviet states participated. Ashram announced her retirement from competitive gymnastics at a press conference in Tel Aviv on 4 April 2022.

Anastasiya Evgenievna Serdyukova is an Uzbekistani former individual rhythmic gymnast. She is the All-around bronze medalist at the 2014 Asian Games and the 2017 Asian Championships All-around gold medalist.

Pooja Surve Indian rhythmic gymnast

Pooja Surve is an Indian individual rhythmic gymnast. She represents India at international competitions. She competed at world championships, including at the 2009 World Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships, Japan. In 2010, she was the only gymnast from India to be in the top 16 at the 2010 Commonwealth Games; she won Miss Exotic Performance award in World Cup Belarus 2010, becoming the first Indian to ever get this award; and she also participated in the 2010 World Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships, held in Moscow.

Alexandra Ana Maria Agiurgiuculese is a Romanian-Italian individual rhythmic gymnast who represents Italy and coached by Špela Dragaš. She is a four-time medalist at the 2016 European Junior Championships. At the national level, she is the 2019 Italian National All-around champion, three-time Italian National All-around silver medalist and a three-time Italian Junior National champion, and a bronze medalist with the ball at the 2018 World Championships. She competed at the 2020 Olympic Games.

She is also the 2018 and 2021 Asian all-around champion and is an eleven-time medalist at the Asian Championships. She represented Kazakhstan at the 2020 Summer Olympics and placed twenty-first in the qualification round for the all-around.

Pranati Nayak is an Indian artistic gymnast. She is the 2019 Asian Championships vault bronze medalist. She is the third Indian gymnast to win an international medal on the vault, after Dipa Karmakar and Aruna Reddy. She represented India at the 2020 Summer Olympics and is only the second Indian female gymnast to qualify for the Olympic Games. She is also the 2019 Indian all-around champion. She represented India at the 2014 Commonwealth Games and at the 2018 Commonwealth Games and at the 2014 and 2018 Asian Games. She also competed at the 2014, 2017, and 2019 World Championships.

Ekaterina Fetisova Uzbekistani rhythmic gymnast

Ekaterina Andreevna Fetisova is an Uzbekistani rhythmic gymnast. She is the 2021 Asian Championships ball champion and all-around bronze medalist. She also won team gold and hoop bronze at the 2019 Asian Championships. She represented Uzbekistan at the 2018 Summer Youth Olympics and at the 2020 Summer Olympics. She is the 2018 Asian junior all-around champion.
