Darion Duncombe (born January 16, 1990) is a male track and field athlete from Freeport, Bahamas who mainly competes in the 100m and 200 and 400m. He attended Sunland Baptist Academy and Tabernacle Baptist High on Grand Bahama before going on to compete for Rust College in Holly Springs, Mississippi. Duncombe won a gold medal in the Heptathlon at the 2009 CARIFTA Games in Vieux Fort, Saint Lucia. [1] [2] Duncombe also won a bronze medal in the boys 4x 400m relay at the 2006 Central American and Caribbean Junior Championships in Port of Spain, Trinidad. [3]

Duncombe also played for the Bahamas American Football Jr team at the IFAF 2009 Junior World Championship Qualification Tournament game held in Panama City, Panama as a running back. The Bahamas played the Mexican National team. [4]

Deon Lendore Trinidadian sprinter (1992–2022)

Deon Lendore was a Trinidadian sprinter who specialized in the 400 metres. He won a bronze medal in the 4 × 400 metres relay event at the 2012 Summer Olympics, and won medals at the Pan American Junior Athletics Championships, World Athletics Championships and World Athletics Indoor Championships. Lendore died in a car collision in Texas, U.S. on 10 January 2022.

The 3rd Central American and Caribbean Junior Championships was held in Xalapa, Mexico, on 25–28 August 1978. This was already the second time that the city was hosting this event after the 2nd junior CAC games in 1976. Moreover, both the inaugural 1st CAC senior championships in 1967 and the VI CAC senior championships in 1977 took place in Xalapa, Veracruz. Both junior (under-20) and youth (under-17) competitions were held.

The 21st CARIFTA Games was held in Nassau, Bahamas, on April 18–20, 1992.

Steven Gardiner Bahamian sprinter

Steven Gardiner is a Bahamian track and field sprinter competing in the 400 metres and 200 metres. He is the current Olympic and world champion in the 400 m, and also won the silver medal at the 2017 World Championships in that event. His winning time of 43.48 s from the 2019 World Championships is the Bahamian record and makes him the sixth-fastest man in the history of the event. Gardiner also owns the Bahamian records in the outdoor 300 m and 200 m, with times of 31.83 s and 19.75 s respectively, and the world best in the indoor 300 m at 31.56 s.
