Darren Keith Sumner (born 14 March 1968 in Stockport, England) [1] is a former motorcycle speedway rider from England. During his speedway career he was known as Daz Sumner. [2]
Sumner was the British Speedway Under 21 Champion in 1987. [3]
He rode in the National League for the Stoke Potters between 1985 and 1987, and went on to ride for Middlesbrough Bears, Belle Vue Aces, and Oxford Cheetahs before retiring in 1994.
During the fnal season of his career in 1994, he helped Oxford Cheetahs win the Fours Championship during the 1994 British League Division Two season. [4] [5]
Jason Philip Crump is a former international motorcycle speedway rider from Australia. He is a three-time Speedway World Champion, a World Cup winner and a former World Under-21 Champion.
Hans Hollen Nielsen is a Danish former professional motorcycle speedway rider. He competed in the Speedway World Championships from 1977 to 1999. Nielsen is notable for winning four Speedway World Championship titles. During his career, he won a total of 22 World Championships, making him arguably the most successful speedway rider of all time. In 2012, Nielsen was named an FIM Legend for his motorcycling achievements. He later managed the Danish national team.
Scott Karl Nicholls is a motorcycle speedway rider from England, who has won the British Championship seven times, and was a full participant in the Speedway Grand Prix series between 2002 and 2008. He is also a speedway commentator.
The Oxford Cheetahs are a British speedway team based at Oxford Stadium, in Oxford, England. They were founded in 1939 and are five times champions of Britain, in 1964, 1985, 1986, 1989 and 2001. The club folded in 2007 but in 2021, it was announced that the Oxford Cheetahs will make a long-awaited return to racing, participating in the SGB Championship 2022.
