The fourth season of the German talent show Das Supertalent premiered on September 24, 2010. Once again, Bruce Darnell, Dieter Bohlen and Sylvie van der Vaart all returned as Judges, while Daniel Hartwich and Marco Schreyl returned as hosts. Season 4 had approximately 40,700 applicants, making it the highest amount of applicants in the show's history. [1] [2] The auditions began filming on May 16, 2010 in Frankfurt am Main. Other audition locations were Stuttgart, Nuremberg, Munich, Hamburg, Hanover, Leipzig, Berlin, Bochum and finally Cologne on June 20, 2010. [3]

When the first auditions episode was broadcast, it had the best viewing figures for an opening episode out of all seasons: 7.47 million viewers. The second episode the following day topped that with 7.74 million viewers. The final was viewed by 10.07 million. [1]

The number of episodes in the season was increased to 15, [4] while the number of Semi-Final episodes were increased from three to four. In each Semi-Final, 10 acts performed, with the public voting two acts through to the final, and the judges collectively deciding on the third, ending with 12 finalists. The Semi-Finals began on November 27. The eventual winner of the competition and the €100,000, was opera Singer Freddy Sahin-Scholl. The implausibility of some of his performances, such as regurgitating a "solved" Rubik's cube, have resulted in some observers believing that he is an illusionist. Starr has a busy international touring schedule for his solo act.

Das Supertalent is a German talent show, part of the internationally successful Got Talent franchise, presented by Victoria Swarovski and Knossi. Just like in all other versions of the franchise, auditions take place and the judges review their talent and then later the home audience votes in an election to deem who wins. The ninth season of Deutschland sucht den Superstar was broadcast on German channel RTL from 7 January to 27 April 2012. Luca Hänni won the series. Jury members Fernanda Brandão and Patrick Nuo left DSDS and were replaced by Bruce Darnell and Cascada's Natalie Horler. As the winner, Luca Hänni received a recording contract with Universal Music Group and €500,000. Participants must be between the ages of 16 and 30 and living in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The auditions stage had 34 audition events in 33 cities across Germany, Austria or Switzerland. 35,401 participants auditioned for season 9. Marco Schreyl will not be returning to host season 10.

The Voice of Germany is a German reality talent show that premiered on 24 November 2011 on ProSieben and Sat.1. Based on the reality singing competition The Voice of Holland, the series was created by Dutch television producer John de Mol. It is part of an international series.

The fourteenth series of British talent competition programme Britain's Got Talent was broadcast on ITV, but in two parts as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic in the United Kingdom during that year which affected production on the programme. The first half consisted of audition episodes that had already been filmed, which were aired between 11 April to 30 May 2020. The second half consisted of the remaining episodes when production could resume, and were aired between 30 August to 10 October 2020. The series was notable for Simon Cowell's absence from the semi-finals and final after he sustained an injury following an accident in August, forcing him to be replaced by Ashley Banjo. He still appeared in the audition episodes as they had been filmed and aired before his injury. Before Cowell's injury, it was intended for him to be virtually present for the semi-finals because of travel restrictions and his commitments to America's Got Talent.
