Freddy Sahin-Scholl (born 21 December 1953 in Heilbronn as Freddy Scholl) is a German singer and composer.

Life and career

Freddy Sahin-Scholl is the son of a Turkish German mother and an African-American soldier. He was raised by a foster mother in Wüstenrot who recognized his musical talent. He worked as an anesthesia assistant. Sahin-Scholl lives and works in Karlsruhe.

At the age of forty he discovered that, despite his lack of vocal training, he is able to quickly change his voice from baritone to soprano.

On the 19 December 2010, he won the season 4 of Das Supertalent and 100,000€. [1] He was in the running to represent Austria in the Eurovision Song Contest 2011. [2]

Das Supertalent is a German talent show, part of the internationally successful Got Talent franchise, presented by Lola Weippert and Chris Tall. Just like in all other versions of the franchise, auditions take place and the judges review their talent and then later the home audience votes in an election to deem who wins. The prize money is €50,000.

Das Supertalent Season 4 was the fourth season of Germany's Got Talent franchise. Season 4 began on 24 September 2010. The first episode was screened on 24 September. The first episode had the best quotes of all seasons: 7,47 million viewers. The second episode the following day could even top that with 7,74 million viewers. The final was viewed by 10,07 million. The top 40 semi-finals began on 27 November. Freddy Sahin-Scholl won the competition and €100,000. Season 4 had approximately 40.700 applicants.
