David Brian Ashley (born January 5,1951) was the eighth president of the University of Nevada,Las Vegas,appointed to the position on July 1,2006 and relieved of his duties by the Board of Regents on July 10,2009.
Ashley attended MIT,becoming a member of the Sigma Chi fraternity,and graduated in 1973. His bachelor's degree and master's degree,also of MIT,are both in civil engineering;he has a second master's degree and a doctorate from Stanford University. He served as the founding executive vice chancellor and provost at the University of California,Merced starting in 2001 and was the dean of the College of Engineering at the Ohio State University.
Ashley's professional experiences as a civil engineer and as an expert in construction management include work on major projects around the globe. He has been called upon to work on the expansion of the Panama Canal and the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge.
In 2000,Ashley received an honorary doctorate from the Chalmers University in Sweden for his academic contributions.
On July 10,2009,Ashley was relieved of his duties as President of UNLV by the Board of Regents of the Nevada System of Higher Education,effective immediately. Executive Vice President and Provost Neal Smatresk immediately became the Acting President of UNLV. Ashley retains his position as a tenured professor of Civil Engineering. He will continue to receive his presidential salary of $242,424 until his contract expires. [1]

Carol Clancey Harter was an American academic administrator who was the 7th president of the University of Nevada,Las Vegas (UNLV) (1995–2006). She is the longest-serving president in UNLV history,at 11 years. From New York,she held B.A.,M.A.,and Ph.D. degrees from Binghamton University as well as three honorary doctorates. She was succeeded as president of UNLV by David B. Ashley on July 1,2006. Prior to her tenure at UNLV,Harter was the 11th president of SUNY Geneseo,where she was succeeded by Christopher Dahl. She served as a faculty member and in two vice presidential roles at Ohio University and is the author of numerous articles and co-author of two books. Harter was the retired Executive Director and founder of UNLV's Black Mountain Institute at UNLV. She was Chair of the Beverly Rogers,Carol C. Harter Black Mountain Institute Advisory Board and a member of the Guinn Center for Public Priorities Board of Directors.
Edward Parry Thomas was an American banker who helped finance the development of the casino industry of Las Vegas,Nevada. Along with his business partner,Jerome D. Mack,he is credited with building Las Vegas into what it is today.
Jeffrey Scott Horton is an American football coach. He is currently the running backs coach at San Diego State University. He was the interim head coach at the University of Minnesota,having replaced Tim Brewster,who was fired midway through the Golden Gophers' 2010 season. Horton previously served as the head coach at the University of Nevada,Reno in 1993 and at the University of Nevada,Las Vegas from 1994 to 1998. From 2006 to 2008,he a special assistant/offense and assistant offensive line coach for the St. Louis Rams of the National Football League (NFL),where he worked under head coach Scott Linehan. Horton coached the quarterbacks for the NFL's Detroit Lions in 2009.
The Marjorie Barrick Museum of Art is a museum located on the main campus of the University of Nevada,Las Vegas (UNLV),established in 1967. The museum was originally instituted as a natural history museum with a focus on the natural history and environment of Nevada and the broader Southwestern United States. In December 2011,the Barrick joined the UNLV College of Fine Arts and became the anchor of the Galleries at UNLV. The six galleries and one museum that make up the Galleries are each entities in their own right linked via a common administration.

In 2020,Tarkanian was elected to the Douglas County Commission.
Robert Eugene Glennen Jr. was an American education administrator,most recently serving as Emporia State University's thirteenth president in Emporia,Kansas. Before president of Emporia State,Glennen also served as the tenth president at Western New Mexico University,various administrative jobs at the University of Nevada,Las Vegas and the University of Notre Dame.
Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine at the University of Nevada,Las Vegas (UNLV), is an academic division of the University of Nevada,Las Vegas (UNLV) with 60 students matriculated on July 17,2017. The students began their education with a 6 week EMT course. The school is the first to grant the Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree in Southern Nevada. The school uses facilities in the University Medical Center of Southern Nevada (UMCSN) clinical building at the Las Vegas Medical District.

Thomas N. Wiesner,also known by his nickname "Big Dog",was an American politician and businessman. Wiesner initially played football for the Wisconsin Badgers from 1958 to 1960,before moving to Las Vegas in 1963. Seven years later,at the age of 31,he became the youngest person to be elected to the Clark County Commission. Wiesner served two terms before losing re-election in 1978. Wiesner was also an owner of the Marina Hotel,which later became the MGM Grand resort.

Keith Eric Whitfield is an American psychologist,educator and gerontologist that currently serves as the President of University of Nevada-Las Vegas. He became the 11th and first black president of the university when he was appointed on August 24,2020. Prior to the position,he was the Provost and Senior Vice President of Academic Affairs and a professor of psychology at Wayne State University. Whitfield has also served various leadership positions at Pennsylvania State University and Harvard University,as well as positions within the American Council on Education,Association of Governing Boards of Universities and Colleges,and Association of Public and Land-grant Universities.
