David Duggan (born July 16, 1963) is an American football coach and former player. He is the head football coach for Jackson Academy, a position he has held since 2024. He previously served as the director of recruiting at Troy University. Duggan served as the head coach for the Cologne Centurions of NFL Europe from 2006 to 2007, where he compiled a record of 10–9.
A native of Maynard, Massachusetts, Duggan played four years of football at the University of New Hampshire. He served as captain in 1986 while playing linebacker for the Wildcats.
Duggan began his coaching career in 1987 at Allegheny College where he worked with the inside linebackers. During his one year stay with the Gators, they won the North Coast Athletic Conference title and participated in the NCAA Division III playoffs. In 1988, he returned to his alma mater for a four-year stint as linebackers coach with the Wildcats. In his final year at UNH, the Wildcats won the Yankee Conference title and participated in the NCAA Division I-AA playoffs.
After the 2011 season, Duggan followed head coach Larry Fedora to the University of North Carolina, where he was named outside linebackers coach and special teams coordinator on January 3, 2012. [1] He spent one season in that capacity before returning to Southern Miss as the defensive coordinator and linebackers coach under newly hired head coach Todd Monken in January 2013. [2]
On August 19, 2019, Duggan was named acting head coach of Arkansas State following head coach Blake Anderson's decision to take a leave of absence. Duggan had been named defensive coordinator of the team earlier in the year.
Duggan was fired on October 16, 2020, less than 24 hours after the Red Wolves defense gave up 52 points against Georgia State. [3]
Duggan was named the director of recruiting at Troy on March 31, 2021. [4]
In late December 2022, Duggan was named the defensive coordinator at Kent State under brand-new head coach Kenni Burns. [5] On April 4, 2024, Duggan stepped down from his positions as defensive coordinator and linebackers coach to become the head football coach for Jackson Academy to be closer to family. [6]
Duggan and his wife, Lynne, have two daughters, Olivia and Grace. He graduated from the University of New Hampshire in 1986 with a degree in physical education.

Michael Joseph Stoops is an American football coach and former player, who is the inside linebackers coach at the University of Kentucky. Stoops also served as the head football coach at the University of Arizona from 2003 until his firing during the 2011 season. He previously served as an assistant football coach at the University of Iowa, Kansas State University, and University of Oklahoma. He is the younger brother of Bob Stoops, the former head coach of the Oklahoma Sooners football program, and the older brother of Mark Stoops, head coach of the Kentucky Wildcats football program. He returned to Oklahoma as the defensive coordinator in 2012. He served in the position until he was fired on October 7, 2018. After spending time at the University of Alabama as an analyst, he spent one season as the defensive coordinator of the Florida Atlantic Owls in 2021.
Monte George Kiffin was an American football coach. He is widely considered to have been one of the preeminent defensive coordinators in modern football, as well as one of the greatest defensive coordinators in NFL history. Father of the widely imitated "Tampa 2" defense, Kiffin's concepts are among the most influential in modern college and pro football.
Russell Dean Pees is an American football coach who is currently a senior advisor for the Baltimore Ravens of the National Football League (NFL). He has served as the defensive coordinator for the Ravens, New England Patriots, Tennessee Titans, and Atlanta Falcons. Pees was also the head coach at Kent State University from 1998 to 2003, compiling a record of 17–51.
Charles Rene Strong is an American football coach who was most recently the co-defensive coordinator and linebackers coach at the University of Miami. He recently served as the assistant head coach and inside linebackers coach for the Jacksonville Jaguars of the National Football League (NFL) in 2021 and also previously served as a defensive analyst at the University of Alabama in 2020.
Peter Anton Sirmon is a former American football linebacker in the National Football League (NFL). He was selected in the 2000 NFL draft by the Tennessee Titans and played for them for his entire career from 2000 to 2006. Sirmon played college football at the University of Oregon, and high school football at Walla Walla High School, where he played quarterback and safety.
Joe Barry is an American football coach who is the linebackers coach and run game coordinator for the Miami Dolphins of the National Football League (NFL). His career includes having served as the assistant head coach and linebackers coach for the Los Angeles Rams, as well as serving as the defensive coordinator for the Washington Redskins, Detroit Lions, and Green Bay Packers. Barry also previously served as an assistant coach for the San Diego Chargers, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the San Francisco 49ers. Barry is the son of former coach Mike Barry.
Reginald Wayne Herring is an American football coach and former player and most recently the linebackers coach for the Denver Broncos of the National Football League (NFL). A former linebacker at Florida State University, he began his coaching career in 1981. He has now coached for 36 years across college and the NFL. Herring arrived in Denver to coach linebackers in 2015 after previous stops in the league with Chicago (2014), Houston and Dallas (2008–10). Herring has coached nine linebackers who have made Pro Bowl appearances during their careers, including outside linebackers DeMarcus Ware (9), Mario Williams (4), and Connor Barwin (1), and inside linebackers Zach Thomas (7), Keith Brooking (5), Lance Briggs (7), Brian Cushing (1), Sean Lee (2) and DeMeco Ryans (2). Herring also served as the interim head football coach for the University of Arkansas in the 2008 Cotton Bowl Classic.
Rick Rhoades is an American football coach who has worked at the high school, college, and professional levels. He served as head football coach at the collegiate level at Troy State University from 1985 to 1987, Southern Illinois University Carbondale in 1988, Nicholls State University from 1993 to 1994 and Delta State University from 2002 to 2006.

Bradley Dale Peveto is an American football coach. He is a co-defensive coordinator and the linebackers coach at Texas State University and was previously the defensive coordinator at the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP)from 2021 through 2023. Peveto served as the head football coach at Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, Louisiana from 2009 to 2012, compiling a record of 14–30.
Scott Gregory Hazelton is an American football coach who is currently a special assistant to the head coach at the University of Texas at Austin. He was previously the defensive coordinator at Michigan State University. Hazelton was the defensive coordinator and linebackers coach at Kansas State University in 2019 before moving to Michigan State. He was also the defensive coordinator and linebackers coach at the University of Wyoming in 2017 and 2018 where he led nationally ranked defenses in both seasons, linebackers coach at USC in 2012 and the defensive coordinator of the 2011 FCS National Champions, North Dakota State Bison. Hazelton was tutored as a defensive coach under the guidance of then North Dakota State head coach and current Buffalo Bills assistant Bob Babich and Gus Bradley who is a former head coach of the Jacksonville Jaguars, former Bison assistant coach, and is currently the defensive coordinator for the Los Angeles Chargers.
David Christopher Aranda is an American football coach. He is the head football coach at Baylor University, a position he has held since 2020. He previously served as the defensive coordinator at LSU, Wisconsin, Utah State, Hawaii, Delta State, and Cal Lutheran.
The 2013 North Carolina Tar Heels football team represented the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill as a member of Coastal Division of the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) during the 2013 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The team was led by second-year head coach Larry Fedora and played their home games at Kenan Memorial Stadium. The Tar Heels finished the season 7–6 overall and 4–4 in ACC play to place fifth in the Coastal Division. They were invited to the Belk Bowl, where they defeated Cincinnati.
