David Morway is currently the Assistant General Manager of the Utah Jazz. Morway was the former General Manager of the Indiana Pacers of the National Basketball Association, as well as a former Assistant General Manager of the Milwaukee Bucks. He had also been an assistant general manager with the San Diego Padres from 1985 to 1988. He is a 1982 graduate of the University of Arizona with a law degree from the University of San Diego.

Morway was a finalist for the Portland Trail Blazers general manager position in 2012. [1]

Morway is married with two teenage sons. [1]

He served as a part-time scout for several NFL and USFL teams before joining the Buffalo Bills in 1986, serving as a scout and executive for them for 14 years. With the Bills, the team won four AFC Championships. He joined the San Diego Chargers in 2001 as a director of pro personnel, and was promoted to general manager and executive vice president for them two years later. He stayed with the Chargers until being fired following the 2012 season. Smith's son, Kyle, is the assistant general manager of the Atlanta Falcons.
