David Saad (born 15 October 1954 in Beirut) [1] is a Lebanese judoka. He competed in the men's lightweight event at the 1976 Summer Olympics. [2] He also competed in the 1975 World Judo Championships. [3]

Biography

Saad studied computer science in which he had a DEUG from the University of Paris-Sud, a BSc from Concordia University, an MSc.A. from McGill University and PhD from the University of Paris-Sud. [4] [5]

His younger brother Gad Saad is a Lebanese-Canadian evolutionary behavioural scientist at the John Molson School of Business. [6] His nephew is Ariel Helwani who is a Canadian mixed martial arts (MMA) journalist. [7]

Kerrith Brown is a British judoka and President of the International Mixed Martial Arts Federation (IMMAF).

Philip Masato Takahashi was a judoka from Canada, who represented his native country at two consecutive Summer Olympics. He twice won a bronze medal at the Pan American Games during his career in the bantamweight division, in 1979 and 1983. His greatest achievement came as a bronze medal at the 1981 World Championships. In 1986, he won the bronze medal in the 60 kg weight category at the judo demonstration sport event as part of the 1986 Commonwealth Games.

Timna Nelson-Levy is an Israeli Olympic judoka. She competes in the under 57 kg weight category and represented Israel at the 2020 Summer Olympics, winning a bronze medal in the mixed team event. In European Championships, she won a gold medal in 2022 and bronze in 2016 and 2024. Nelson-Levy represented Israel at the 2024 Paris Olympics in judo in the women's 57 kg, coming in ninth, and in the mixed team event, at when Team Israel came in ninth.

Graeme spinks is a New Zealand judoka. He competed at the 1984 Summer Olympics and the 1992 Summer Olympics. Spinks is a martial arts trainer in his birth-city Christchurch. He trained New Zealand Police in the use of force in self-defence, and restraint training, including carotid holds which can render a person unconscious within seconds; this choking method is rarely applied by Police.

Jukka-Pekka Metsola is a Finnish judoka. He competed in the men's half-middleweight event at the 1988 Summer Olympics.
