David Sterne (born 1946) is an English actor. He has appeared in more than 90 films since 1973. [1]

Contents

After leaving the British Army, Sterne trained at the Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art. A former member of the Royal Shakespeare Company. [2] He has worked in television, film and radio for over 40 years. [3] [4]

The show premiered on 9 May 2016 on BBC Two as part of the commemorations of the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare's death. Its title quotes "an upstart Crow, beautified with our feathers", a critique of Shakespeare by his rival Robert Greene in the latter's Groats-Worth of Wit.
