David Yarovesky (born April 26, 1980) [1] is an American filmmaker, and actor. He has won a single Newport Beach Film Festival Achievement Award for Outstanding Achievement in Short Filmmaking for his short film Ghild (2011). [2]
He gained recognition with his superhero horror film Brightburn (2019) in his feature directorial debut. [3] After, he directed dark fantasy film Nightbooks (2021) based on J. A. White's children's book of the same name. [4] Recently, he went on to directed 4x4 (2019) [5] remake Locked (2025), featuring Bill Skarsgård and Anthony Hopkins. [6] [7]
Yarovesky was born in Calabasas, California, to Tori Breyer and Kyle Breyer. [8]
