Aakash Baskaran set up the Chennai-based film production house Dawn Pictures in 2024, before moving on to co-produce the Dhanush-directorial Idly Kadai (2025), along with Wunderbar Films, which also stars Dhanush, alongside Nithya Menen, Shalini Pandey, Arun Vijay and Prakash Raj. [3]

He subsequently went on to work on higher-profile projects, notably beginning with Parasakthi , featuring Sivakarthikeyan, Atharvaa, Sreeleela, and Ravi Mohan. [4] [5] To be made on a production budget of 150 crore (US$17 million)250 crore (US$29 million), it was originally set to star Suriya and was known as Suriya 43, and later Puranānooru, which would have marked their reunion after Soorarai Pottru (2020). It was also supposed to feature Dulquer Salmaan, Nazriya Nazim, and Vijay Varma alongside Suriya. [6] [7] [8] [9]
