The Moody Blues are a rock band formed in Birmingham, England, in 1964, initially consisting of keyboardist Mike Pinder, multi-instrumentalist Ray Thomas, guitarist Denny Laine, drummer Graeme Edge, and bassist Clint Warwick. The group came to prominence playing rhythm and blues music. They made some changes in musicians but settled on a line-up of Pinder, Thomas, Edge, guitarist Justin Hayward, and bassist John Lodge, who stayed together for most of the band's "classic era" into the early 1970s.
Days of Future Passed is the second album and first concept album by English prog rock band The Moody Blues, released in November 1967 by Deram Records. With its fusion of orchestral and rock elements, it has been cited as one of the first examples of progressive rock.
A Night at Red Rocks with the Colorado Symphony Orchestra is a live album by The Moody Blues, recorded from a live performance at the Red Rocks Amphitheatre on 9 September 1992. This performance was the first time The Moody Blues performed in concert backed by a full orchestra. They subsequently toured, performing with regional orchestras throughout. The concert was held in celebration of the 25th anniversary of their second, but most renowned album, Days of Future Passed, which also featured the London Festival Orchestra. The full video of this concert was broadcast as a fundraising broadcast for PBS in the United States.
Justin David Hayward is an English musician best known as songwriter, lead singer, and guitarist of the rock band The Moody Blues. Hayward became the group's principal lead guitarist and vocalist over the 1967–1974 period, and the most prolific songwriter and composer of several international hit singles for the band.

"Nights in White Satin" is a song by the Moody Blues, written and composed by Justin Hayward. It was first featured as the segment "The Night" on the album Days of Future Passed. When first released as a single in 1967, it reached number 19 on the UK Singles Chart and number 103 in the United States in 1968. It was the first significant chart entry by the band since "Go Now" and its recent lineup change, in which Denny Laine and Clint Warwick had resigned and both Hayward and John Lodge had joined.
Graeme Charles Edge is an English musician, songwriter and poet best known as the drummer and one of the songwriters in the English band the Moody Blues. In addition to his work with the Moody Blues, Edge has worked as the bandleader of his own outfit, the Graeme Edge Band. He has contributed his talents to a variety of other projects throughout his career. In 2018, Edge was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of the Moody Blues.

This Is The Moody Blues is a two LP compilation album by the Moody Blues, released in late 1974 while the band was on a self-imposed sabbatical. Though all of the songs were previously released on albums, several of them are heard here in distinctly different mixes. Like the Moody Blues albums of the time – but unlike most compilation albums, including later Moody Blues compilations – the songs on this album segue seamlessly, without silence between tracks. On the original LP, this was true of the songs on each side; when the album was remastered for CD, each disc was also blended, so that "Legend of a Mind" segues into "In the Beginning", and "Watching and Waiting" segues into "I'm Just a Singer ".
"Tuesday Afternoon" is a 1968 single by English symphonic rock band the Moody Blues, which was presented in its original album form on their 1967 album Days of Future Passed in two parts.
"Never Comes the Day" is a 1969 single by the progressive rock band the Moody Blues. It was written by band member Justin Hayward, and was the only single released from their 1969 album On the Threshold of a Dream. The song was edited from the album version of 4:43 down to 2:42. The single edit omits the second verse and simply goes into the longer chorus after the first verse. A similar edit was done on the Justin Hayward/John Lodge song "I Dreamed Last Night", but that version ends cold. Despite the fact that the album was a number-one hit in the UK, "Never Comes the Day" was a commercial flop as a single, and did not chart in the UK. The single also included Mike Pinder's "So Deep Within You," another track from the same album, on the B-side.
Anthology is a compilation album by the progressive rock band the Moody Blues. It was released on 20 October 1998 and nearly spans the band's entire career from 1965 to 1991.
"(Evening) Time to Get Away" is part of a song from The Moody Blues 1967 album Days of Future Passed, a concept album with each song representing a part of the day. It was unlisted on the original album, but has been listed on many later reissues. The composition was written by bassist John Lodge, and is one of two compositions written by Lodge for Days of Future Passed, the other being "Peak Hour." As the title suggests, the lyrics are about ending the work day and returning home. "(Evening) Time to Get Away" is part two of the track "Forever Afternoon (Tuesday?)", which also contains the Justin Hayward song "Tuesday Afternoon."
"Twilight Time" is a song from the Moody Blues' 1967 album Days of Future Passed. It is the final of three songs on the album representing the evening, along with "(Evening) Time to Get Away", and "The Sunset." Written by the Moody Blues' flautist Ray Thomas, "Twilight Time" primarily describes the scene in the sky after the sun has set. It is one of the more upbeat songs on the album, played in a brooding minor key, and also has a heavy psychedelic rock sound to it.
Greatest Hits is a compilation album by the progressive rock band the Moody Blues, released in 1989. The band recorded new versions of "Isn't Life Strange" and "Question" with orchestration by the London Symphony Orchestra. The arrangements were overseen by Anne Dudley, who also produced the recordings with Justin Hayward and John Lodge. The album was re-released as The Story of the Moody Blues – Legend of a Band in 1990 to coincide with the release of the documentary of the same name.
Live at the BBC: 1967–1970 is a two-disc album by The Moody Blues. Released in 2007, it features forty-one live recordings of various performances for the BBC between 1967 and 1970. The album features multiple recordings of some songs, so they are listed more than once. In 2019 the album was reissued on a numbered limited edition triple-coloured vinyl disk set.
Live at the Isle of Wight Festival 1970 is a live album by the Moody Blues that consists of their live performance at the Isle of Wight Festival in 1970. The album was released in 2008.
Michael Thomas Pinder is an English rock musician, and is a founding member and original keyboard player of the British rock group the Moody Blues. He left the group following the recording of the band's ninth album Octave in 1978. He is especially noted for his technological contribution to music. In 2018, Pinder was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of the Moody Blues.
