De School was a leading club and cultural venue located in the western part of Amsterdam. The club was situated on the Dr. Jan van Breemenstraat in the building of a former technical high school.

The club and cultural venue was founded in 2016 by Post CS BV, the company also responsible for the since-closed nightclub Trouw. [3] [4] The complex consisted of a nightclub, concert venue, restaurant, cafe, gallery space, artist residency and gym. [5] The nightclub of De School, located in the former school's bicycle storage basement, had a capacity of 700 and a 24-hour license. [6] The complex additionally served as the headquarters of Subbacultcha, a local art magazine and music platform. The program of Subbacultcha took place in the venue’s s105 room. [7]
The club was temporarily closed in 2020 amidst the COVID-19 pandemic and opened again in September 2022. In January 2024, the club closed its doors indefinitely, due to expiring municipal permits and building plans on site. The final party, running from January 12th through 15th, was a marathon event called Het Einde. [8] [9]
In The Netherlands, De School was considered to be the premiere club and art venue of its time. [10] The club also earned a renowned reputation in the international electronic music scene. Part of this reputation was the infamously selective entrance policy, world class sound system in the night club's basement and loyal community. [11]
In 2020, DJ Magazine announced De School to be the 39th club on the list of top 100 clubs worldwide. [12] In that same year, writer and performer Olivier Herter was artist in residence at the venue. [13] The club has hosted artists such as DJ Sprinkles, Theo Parrish, Cinnaman, Wata Igarashi, and I-F.

DC10 is a nightclub located in Ibiza on the Carretera of Salinas. It started during the 90s as a music bar and began with a license for just 80 people, opened by two Spanish brothers, Deogracias lara Moreno and Antonio Lara Moreno. In 1999, Italian promoters Antonio Carbonaro and Andrea Pelino joined in force, becoming partner at DC10, and creating the Circoloco brand, which would soon become the Monday event during each Ibiza season.
The Sub Club is a club and music venue located at 22 Jamaica Street in Glasgow, Scotland. It opened 1 April 1987 and is the longest running underground dance club in the world. The 3,500-square-foot (330 m2) basement space can legally hold up to 410 people. In 2008 it was voted the 10th best club in the world by Resident Advisor(and 5th for atmosphere) and the 30th best club in the world by DJ Mag. In 2009 the club was placed 14th best in the world by DJ Mag.
I love the Sub Club. I've had some amazing nights there over the years. Whatever genre of music it hosts, it always pulls along a great crowd of party animals who really know their stuff.
Distortion is a celebration of "Street Life and New Dance Music" all over Copenhagen in the streets, venues, the harbour and a festival site. With over 100,000 visitors, it is one of the large annual gatherings in Europe, every year for a week ending on the first Saturday of June. The Distortion week includes free community street parties with 10-40 small stages per day in Nørrebro, Vesterbro and the Copenhagen Harbour, a few major street parties called Distortion X, and a bunch of night-time events in venues and nightclubs called Distortion Club. The weekend finale is called Distortion Ø, by far the largest electronic music event in Scandinavia: a rave with 4-8 stages on an industrial island of the Copenhagen harbour.

Printworks was a nightclub and events venue in Rotherhithe, South London. Taking its name from the building's former use for newspaper printing, it became one of the UK's top nightclubs. Closed for redevelopment in 2023, the Press Halls section of the building is scheduled to reopen as a music and events venue in 2026.
De Vloek was a squatted, self-managed social centre in The Hague, the Netherlands, between 2002 and 2015. Located on Hellingweg 127 in Scheveningen, beside the North Sea, the squat hosted workplaces, living spaces, a venue, and a vegan restaurant. The local council tolerated the occupation until 2014, when it decided to sell the building. A political struggle over the eviction began; some political parties supported the squatters and the Scheveningen Pier was briefly occupied as a protest action. A deal was made for the squatters to move to a former school building and the Vloek was eventually evicted in September 2015.
