Dean Wallis (born 27 August 1969) is a former Australian rules footballer for the Essendon Football Club of the AFL.
Originally from Nhill, due to his physical style of play Wallis became known as one of the AFL's toughest players. He won premierships with the club in 1993 and 2000, and played 127 VFL/AFL games in his 14 seasons with the Bombers.
After retiring as a player, he became an assistant coach. In 2002 and 2003, Wallis was an assistant coach to Grant Thomas at St.Kilda before again returning to Windy Hill to take up an assistant coaching role. He left the club after Matthew Knights was appointed as senior coach in 2008, [1] and he moved to the Fremantle Football Club as an assistant coach. At the conclusion of the 2010 AFL season, he returned to Essendon as a development coach, following Knights' replacement as senior coach by James Hird. [2]
In 2011, Wallis was suspended from coaching for 14 games and fined $7500 by the AFL for betting on league games in violation of anti-gambling rules. [3] In 2015, Dean took up the senior coaching role of Essendon Doutta Stars in the EDFL and was a premiership coach in his first year at the helm. In 2016, Wallis continued as senior coach at Essendon Doutta Stars.
His son, Tom, was drafted by Essendon in the 2016 rookie draft under the father–son rule. [4]

James Albert Hird is a former professional Australian rules football player and past senior coach of the Essendon Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL).

Dean Bailey was an Australian rules football player and coach. He played for the Essendon Football Club and was the senior coach of the Melbourne Football Club, as well as an assistant coach at Essendon and Port Adelaide and the Strategy & Innovation Coach at the Adelaide Football Club. Bailey died of lung cancer on 11 March 2014.
Mark Neeld is a former Australian rules footballer who played with Geelong and Richmond in the Australian Football League (AFL) during the 1990s. He was senior coach of the Melbourne Football Club from 2012 to 2013, when he was sacked on 17 June after much scrutiny. Samuel Luke Dunell is an Australian rules football player who played for the St Kilda Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL) and then played for Williamstown in the Victorian Football League (VFL) from 2015-2019 where he played 100 games for them, kicking 158 goals. He played for Victoria against SA in 2016 and was twice named in the VFL Team of the Year. He finished 2nd in the VFL Liston trophy in 2015 capping off the season with an all conquering premiership win against Box Hill at Docklands. At one stage he was considered the best player in the VFL. He was Club leading goalkicker in 2015 with 41 majors and 2016 with 37 goals, and was runner-up in the Club best and fairest in 2015 and in third place in 2016. He received life membership in 2019 after his final game for Williamstown in the 2019 grand defeat defeat by Richmond.
