Debabrata Bandyopadhyay (born 1931) is a Member of Parliament representing All India Trinamool Congress in the Rajya Sabha from West Bengal. He was Executive Director of the Asian Development Bank and had retired from the ADB from December 1991 [1]

He had studied B.A. with Honours in Economics at Presidency College at Kolkata and completed M.A. (Economics) at University of Calcutta at Kolkata. [2]

R. D. Banerji Indian archaeologist

Rakhaldas Bandyopadhyay, also known as R D Banerji, was an Indian archaeologist and museum expert. He was the Manindra Chandra Nandy Professor of Ancient Indian History and Culture at the Banaras Hindu University from 1928–30. He is best known as the discoverer of the antiquity of Mohenjo-daro, the principal site of the Indus Valley Civilisation through excavations.

Debabrata Das is a cricketer who plays domestic cricket for Bengal and the IPL franchise Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). Das first came to prominence as the member of the Indian Under-19 team in 2005. One of the older members of the Indian U19 World Cup squad which was defeated by Pakistan in the 2006 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup final, this right-handed batsman only broke into the team during the Afro-Asia U19 Cup in November 2005. He obviously did enough to impress the selectors as he played in every match and scored 156 runs in his six innings to date. Bratyabrata Basu Roy Chowdhury, also known as Bratya Basu, is an Indian actor, stage director, playwright, film director, professor and a politician. Basu was West Bengal's minister for Education till May 2014 and was then assigned the portfolios of Tourism, Science Technology and Bio-Technology, Information Technology and Electronics and again assigned as the Minister of Education on 10 May 2021. He was elected as an MLA, from the Dum Dum constituency since 2011 Assembly Election of West Bengal.

Jayanta Bandyopadhyay

He is a Former Professor of the Indian Institute of Management Calcutta. Sanghamitra Bandyopadhyay is an Indian computer scientist specializing in computational biology. A professor at the Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata, she is a Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Prize winner in Engineering Science for 2010 and an Infosys Prize 2017 laureate in the Engineering and Computer Science category. Her research is mainly in the areas of evolutionary computation, pattern recognition, machine learning and bioinformatics. Since 1 August 2015, she has been the Director of the Indian Statistical Institute, and she would oversee the functioning of all five centres of Indian Statistical Institute located at Kolkata, Bangalore, Delhi, Chennai, and Tezpur besides several other Statistical Quality Control & Operation Research Units spread across India. Gouri Sankar Bandyopadhyay is a historian based in West Bengal, India. He was awarded as the Best Educationist 2015 from the International Institute of Education and Management, New Delhi, India. He is serving as the principal of Syamsundar College since 2015. Bandyopadhyay spent his early days serving as a lecturer and reader in the Department of History at Saldiha College and Bankura Christian College in Bankura, West Bengal, India. Dwijen Bandyopadhyay was a veteran Bengali actor and theater personality of West Bengal, India. He worked onstage from the 1970s. Bandyopadhyay has also been a professor in the department of Drama at Rabindra Bharati University, Kolkata from 1996 to 2014.

Debabrata Goswami Indian chemist

Debabrata Goswami FInstP FRSC, is an Indian chemist and the Prof. S. Sampath Chair Professor of Chemistry, at the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur. He is also a Professor of The Department of Chemistry and The Center for Lasers & Photonics at the same Institute. Goswami is an associate editor of the open-access journal Science Advances. He is also an Academic Editor for PLOS One and PeerJ Chemistry. He has contributed to the theory of Quantum Computing as well as nonlinear optical spectroscopy. His work is documented in more than 200 research publications. He is an elected Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry, Fellow of the Institute of Physics, the SPIE, and The Optical Society. He is also a Senior Member of the IEEE and has been awarded a Swarnajayanti Fellowship for Chemical Sciences. He is the third Indian to be awarded the International Commission for Optics Galileo Galilei Medal for excellence in optics.

Anjan Bandyopadhyay Indian television journalist

Anjan Bandyopadhyay or Anjan Banerjee was an Indian Bengali journalist who worked for various news and media channels such as Anandabazar Patrika, ETV Bangla, Akash Bangla, Zee 24 Ghanta, TV9 Bangla. He was the younger brother of Alapan Bandyopadhyay, the Chief Secretary of West Bengal.
